If being able to shoot claymores to get rid of them enhances gameplay, I say put it in.

I've heard a lot about this. However i haven't yet been willing to risk my life or award someone with a kill just to test it out

even tho i knew what a claymore was its still pretty interesting if ppl think you can blow it up by shooting it lol

They only ever seem to kill me if i make eye contact with them as well.
Claymores take about 3 seconds to arm up before they can blow **** up.

If FF is on, claymores are fine, if you want to go the "realism" route, if you walk in front of your own claymore in RL, you will die. Or if a friendly does..they will die. If ff is off, its just retarded with snipers running around throwing claymores, doing nothing else.

True you cannot shoot c4 to make it explode but claymores are not wireless and motion detected. You must use an M57 firing device that is hardwired to the claymore, but that is not fun for video games and neither is not being able to shoot a claymore to make it explode.

Yes it is true, I unarmed two Claymores the other night. You have to get a bit lucky though, if you just happen to spot the Claymore, and approach it from the rear or side, it is pretty easy to do. Although, you're left vulnerable, and don't get points for it.

^ but u didnt get to replant the claymores right ?

and even with FF on, i dont think friendlies can trip them? acutally im not 100% sure about that cuz ive seen ppl tripping friendly claymores even with FF off and ive seen rounds where FF is on and ppl wont set off friendly clays

No you can't replace them, that would be pretty cool though.

I know what you mean about Claymores and FF. There seems to be a few different settings for them. One where they aren't affected by team mates at all, another where they will explode on team mates but do no damage, and the last they will explode on team mates and do damage.

The funny thing about BF2 claymores is the way they are employed. Currently it is a crime to use victim detonated anti-personnel mines. They MUST be command detonated. Otherwise they must be marked as land mines and are in violation of the Mine Ban Treaty. Of course, the US hasn't signed the Treaty because they claim that the only thing keeping North Korea from marching across the border into South Korea is the buttload of mines in the DMZ. Seeing as I'm stationed in South Korea right now, I'd like to leave those mines right where they are, thankyouverymuch!

Why don't the North just ride over them in hovercraft like in James Bond?

or with the use of a trip wire

in RL claymores are not motion sensored
