Wow.... snipers: defend flags, capture flags, kill people who are flanking, and give you lots of easy kills (95% damage...)

If you are getting owned, then you are getting owned, no reason to say the kit sucks. If you say the snipers suck, then easy kills and more points for you. Be and let be....

Half of all BF2 players are whiners and half of that half are flamers. Meanwhile the other half is kicking their ***!

Funny. It seems nearly half of the people who have replied have failed to read the entire thread.

As I have already mentioned, I did not say Snipers are useless. I said way, way too many people think they are some sort of expert Sniper (usually only limiting themselves to the Sniper kit), and thus, nearly every map is filled to the brim with Snipers.

Snipers are not useless when there is a minimal amount of them. But when half the team is a Sniper, they are useless.

If you see that half of your team is playing as a Sniper, and you almost exclusively play Sniper yourself, I suggest that you switch to another kit. You will be a much bigger asset to your team.

Seriously, try playing Ghost Town anf losing 10+ rounds in a row because more than half of your team refuses to switch from the damn Sniper class.

to all the sniper kit is the hardest we have no amour it takes us two shots unless we hit in the head plus after each shot we have to pull the bolt back unless your mec and your using the auto but if you try to fire the auto to fast you have to let the barel settle down.the sniper is one of the hardest kits to play

Actually, I would prefer that the Sniper was HARDER to play, if anything. And no, the Sniper is not the hardest kit to play. Big crosshairs, ultra-accurate and powerful weapon, claymores, the ability to pick battles.

If the class was a bit more challenging, I assume I would see less Snipers running around.

As of now, nearly all other Snipers I encounter have died much more than they have killed. THESE are the Snipers that need to try a different kit for once.

And of course, Sniper is one of my favourite kits.

I know what you mean. I've created a squad, actually in Ghost Town, yesterday and we were getting our asses handed to us by their choppers and tanks so i went AT but the rest of my team were going sniper!!! And not even with the M95, for the choppers but the SVD!! I asked them to go AT but got ignored...nevertheless we lost..badly!

My sniper stats at the mo are KDR 1.67, 8044 kills and 4814 deaths, so i aint an amature but i do know when im losing and will change kit when required.

I usually hang out on the TV2 servers (Dragon Valley 1 or 2 & Gulf of Oman 1 or 2). Just check my Jemme.sws if its on or not, because I play with that account atm.

Ill be on this afternoon I hope, but there are some ping issues with TV2 so I could be on the Battleforce server (UK) or Kifferstuebchen (NL).

I am not the run & gun type of sniper so I dont know if you like the relaxed type of game I play :)

2 tanks and 2 APC's roughly. Then a lot of infantry=sniper.

i've just noticed your time as sniper to get 21000 kills. How do you play cos after 760 hours i would probably have twice that. Ok your KDR is better.

Ask one of the 5550+ guys I sniped on it with either the M24sws or L96A1

2 tanks and 2 APC's roughly. Then a lot of nfantry=sniper.

I exclusively play 64 player maps only and only when there are at least 54 players in. But I prefer the full 64 players on.
Dragon Valley is still the best map (116 hours sniped on it) imo.
My KPM might not be high, but thats the trade of you get for high KDR/Acc.
Like I said I have a very different style from what you see on average in a game so it might not be for you :) I might be on later btw but I will add you to Xfire in any case :)

The WORST snipers are the 1's that drop clays all over the map in a server that has "friendly fire" enabled for mines, & then wonders why all the "n00bs" are punishing him when they "blindly", & "stupidly" run into his clays

He carefully lays his clays so they are hard for the enemy to detect until the last moment (right after you turn a corner), but it makes it hard for us to see them too

Example: Picture this, the map is Jalalabad, I am mec, I am @ the market, I see a red dot on UAV @ the hotel, I know I can run over there, hop over the short wall, & surprise the enemy before the flag turn white, or @ least before they can spawn there, I can get the knife kill, & get the flag defend, but I jump over the wall, & get blown up in mid air by the clay this sniper left to defend the flag

The silent sneaky infiltrator had time to look for clays, but the defender running from the other cp to defend the flag didn't

1. Flag lost
2. 1 guy gets a death
3. 1 guy gets a tk

Very bad for the team IMO

When enemy snipers use clays for offense it is annoying, but when you own teams's sniper is getting multiple tk's on a server w/ friendly fire enabled, & telling you you are stupid noob for punishing because it is your fault is infuriating

See that red skull and crossbones above the claymore?? That means its DANGEROUS!! Would you run over a AT mine if FF was on> no. There's no excuse cos you can see the warning symbol through walls and round corners, IMVHO your fault:)

haha, i wasn't disagreeing with you, im just saying when you put a clay down to "defend your position" and one of you supposed team mates is blind and runs into your clay and punishes you...why?

I've punished only a handful of people in my BF2 career, if im stupid enough to run into a clay then i forgive, same with AT mines.

Punishing is there for TK's that are on purpose, when i lay a clay or AT mine i don't do it to kill team mates, i like to get 2 points....not lose 4 points!
