Well I'm the "dude" who did that 513m shot on Dalian.

513 is perfectly reasonable (but a great shot also) - like i said before - the max possible view distance EVER on dalian is 610.

I couldn't actually see that fellow. In my screen he was not rendered at all

so your story completely backs up what i am saying - that there is no chance AT ALL the 620m shot (or whatever it was) is possible through skill alone (as stated by jennie - below).

they have skill (no luck involved)

that is all i am arguing against.

like i said before - i am sure that they are infinitely better than me at sniping (you too jemme), but likewise, there is no chance, at all, that these shots were made without an ENORMOUS helping hand from lady luck.

I agree with ^^

No one has a possibility constantly practise extreme range shots and there is no point in it, luck is always involved. But then again was it Napoleon who claimed that to be a good "soldier" a bit a luck is required. Suits for virtual soldiers also.

Hmm, what if the sniper saw a muzzle flash from that direction? What if he has played on an unranked server and got someone to sit in the AA which is pretty much where that shot lands to get all the positions right, correct elevations etc to land that shot? Keep practicing it. Then get someone to go in a chopper and tell hime via TS that it is occupied.. Many many explanasions.

Skill, not entirely. Luck, perhaps, but we don't know the exact details so we can not speculate on it.

Skill ends at 610m, after that point its pixel aiming, hacks or severe luck combined with targets stupidity.

My shot was not practised and it was taken during fight. Try to beat that, just with ur instinct and brain. Then it counts :p

Lol, it's not that important, try to beat Dairukas record. It was something like 88 kills in one round with sniper equipments. I haven't get even close.

Oh btw ACE_FIN1972, i am not practicing. i am looking for the best spot to pop from on a offline game, then i am going to go online and kill somebody at that spot. i havn't fired a shot yet looking for a good spot. (which i have found)

Now i just have to lay in wait, hopeing CO donsn't bomb me everytime i get there (which as happend too many times already).

Four words. "Random cone of fire". Does this not come into play shooting at these distances? All the time in the world can not overcome random events. I know I have taken several shots with all the sniper rifles. From under 300 meters. I have taken the same shot at the same guys head only to have it hit on the third or fourth shot.

Take Warlord, you can be looking the the TV station and not be able to see it, look down and it appears at the top of your screen and you can see if there is anyone up there, guestimate where they'll be when you look straight at it and fire off a few, alot of luck but a some skill is needed..

I do that all the time sitting far away while in a tank, alot of times I fire random shots to the top of the TV station and get multiple kills


as far as shooting with a sniper rifle, I ONCE killed a guy on the carrier while I was on the south tip of Wake Island....no idea how far that is, but I had very good help, 4 things I had

1) if you look away from the carrier, it will appear to the left of your screen, like Absurdus said about the TV station, I noticed this because I was sniping arty island

2) I had UAV

3) I was the commander so I could zoom in on the carrier and see the 4 duche bags waiting for the jet

4) LUCK

86 Kills, and 12 deaths as a sniper.

51 or so of those kills came from the L9A61.
20 or so of those kills acme from the M24.
4 of those kills came from the MR-444.
11 of those kills came from Claymores.

Lol i already beat your recond tonight, no pictures though. I am just trying to get over 625+

That 629m Shot was a staged shot.You can't even see then enemy on that map that far. I got everything turned up on uber high on my computer, farthest i can see on that map is 620ish. I can make that shot with luck that some idoit will stand there for me. And my shot will be done on a random server that i will kill somebody that i dont know.There for my shot well be the best True shot
