I have an AMD XP2400, ATI Radeon XT1600 Pro(512mb) and 512 megs of ram. I know the vc can handle the graphics but it gets choppy and I am really getting frustrated!!! Do I need to upgrade to more ram or what?? What do you guys think?

So if I upgrade to 1 gig that should be ok? And that will help with the choppy game play and music stuttering when loading a map?
With your 2 gigs does it load fast?Comment

Two different things:
1) playing without lag = high frame rate: need more RAM 1-2 GB
2) Load Quick: Need faster hard drive (I have a 10,000 RPM, 74 GB application drive) It has roughly half the seek time of the slower drives.Comment

Hey thanks! I just ran the test and it said everything passed. It did say that I should upgrade to 1gig of RAM so thats what Im gonna do. Actually I think I might get 2 gigs considering memory isnt that expensive anymore.Comment

Anyone can tell you that Battlefield 2 is unplayable on 512 MB of ram.
Shoot for atleast a Gig, If you have the money get 2 Gigs.Comment

Re: My Computer too slow??!! HEEEELLPP!!
RAM would help in your case. Try 1GB.
As for personal experience, it's hard to tell, because I went from Athlon XP 3000+, Radeon 9800XT, 512 MB RAM to Athlon 64 3800+, Radeon X1600PRO and 2GB RAM in a single upgrade (sold old PC and bought a new one)
EDIT: A small tip, if you are looking for another hardware upgrade, especially for the long "Verifying Client Data" thing, try a SATA Harddisk.Comment

You need at least 1.5 gigs to run BF2 at high settings.
BF2 is a memory hog.Comment
