It's just a game, but I find it extremely frustrating to lose because people don't learn their f*cking lesson after having been shot down for the 30th time in a row, 20 seconds after leaving the carrier by the same helicopter in the same damn place.

There's no incentive to win: you don't get anything out of it so ... why bother? "Go for stats" is the general consensus, it seems. I should get with the program then, hmm?
I always felt "the win" was the most important stat

Well when I play the game I'm always a team player, go squad leader with my mic and try and own some noobs.

Other times I go sniper, sit on top of the crane on oman and snipe beach people (When I get a headshot from the farthest possible point you could be from the map I just gotta take fps_doug's line (BOOM HEADSHOT!))

for the most part I play team player. I don't usually go Rambo unless I'm not thinking straight.

I ask for a UAV, maybe some supplies, try and get some kind of vehicle if I can, get my squad with me then together we head in, what I'm getting from you guys is:

"I hate people that stay back, they should run in like me and go straight into the flag"

Maybe the other people were trying to flank to the left and right after their squad leader (myself, who just happened to be in that heli with you in this scenario) told them too?

Or maybe they were waiting for the supply and UAV I asked for as I instructed them to do before running in?

It's a lot of work on a pub server inviting players and tuning the squad to get a good crew together...(but it's a blast when you get a crew that can move and knows what kits and assingments to take) You can sometimes have more effect by commanding and telling the little panty-waists which flags and routes are empty.

You guys use you mic to talk to all the squads simultaneously, right? I don't understand why more commanders don't do it; some commanders just throw up UAVs and drop arty on snipers, instead in front of an attack.

Bottom line is that when you talk to them, you can give them a kick in the *** [pants] If you can't get 'em to squad up, the side is toast.

People want to win if there is no other agenda. Thats where ranked/unranked choice comes in.

Anyway, I play solely solo in a jet and just do my own business. I care for my nerves. But when I meet up with a few friends, then winning is all we work for.

I always play to win and I do whatever I can in pursuing this goal.
If at the end of the round my team has lost, being among the top three players assures me I did my best to win and loosing wasn’t my fault. Curios enough, I got most medals when I’ve lost, than not.

SB: I have mixed opinions about IO mode; it's not just black-and-white.

One skilled squad is not needed most of the times. I am usually a one-man army that can not only finish among the top three almost every round, and win more often than that - resulting in a legit but very high WLR (when playing IO, that is).

Ill be honest, I never cared which team looses or wins, I never payed attention to that, well if Im commanding I try to win but otherwise I either play for fun or try to get more chopper points, only points I care about are chopper points and thats the only way Ive been earning points for the last few months(errr dont get confused, I used same word like 3 times in one sentence )

I think the best example of the breakdown of teamwork is on karkand when the whole fu**ing team dives nose first into the shootout at the hotel (which is what the MEC wants) instead of flanking around and capping some quick points as a team.

lmao thats the greatest thing abut karkand, all you hear at the start is "throwing frag" or "boombolla" or w\e the mec guys say, then you see some guy getting like 5 nade kills and stuff like that, gotta love karkand but as sloi just said, choppas are where its at

It is all about points....which stinks!! It is hard enough to play this game by recruiting good people to a squad, but try to command this nightmare.....geez!

I have been putting in a lot of command hours, and it is killing me. People wont squad up, and when you request them too, you will get 6 squads with one person in each squad and 24 people running amuck!!!

I communicate a lot on mic, but everyone ignores me. I do talk to all squads at the same time so EVERYONE should know what is going on. I let them know how many enemy at each flag when I do a scan. I keep announcing which flags are totally open but no one ever goes there.

You give a squad an order and they say NO, or the squad leader turns off his audio so he can't hear you which is really effective at helping to win a game....and do what they want too. (whore points)

They should make teamwork like going out of bounds....if you dont work as a team then you continue to lose points until you carry out your assigned order (either from commander or squad leader).....then maybe people would get the idea that this game was designed on. You can set it that as long as people are trying to accomplish the task (aka move in the direction designated, or defend a certain area, then no points are lost) However if they run to the other side of the map they start losing points! Respawns would not hurt your score as long as you immediately headed toward your last objective.

                        Just my 2 cents worth!!!

There is no "I" in "TEAMWORK"

Points, points, points! that's all that matters to most. This game would have been so much better if they didnt have a ranking system. I still play DC on occasion, because of that fact.
I agree with you points points points, its all that seems to matter. Where does the community spirit come in?

Often I come to a "crossroad" in the middle of a round, if I go left I can get a lot of points, if I go right I can do the most I can to help my team win

Typically I will go right, & do what I can to help give my team it's best chance of winning, even if it doesn't net me a lot of points

However, if I am already in the top 3 scorers, I will usually fight "tooth, & nail" to hold that position lol

Too often I see guys get medals that IMO they didn't deserve, like when a guy "whores" up a bunch of kills in the tank, but he refused to help take flags, & we lose, but he got his gold

In Ghost I would take the tank, & take the 3 flags along the waterfront, & have the lead in points, & then I would guard the bridge while everybody base rapes, sure a few more vehicles will try to get out, & I will get a few kills pixel shooting the TOW, but after the base rape begins, & my team steals all their vehicles I am sealing the victory, but I am giving up my chance @ gold

See if I go forward, & base rape too, & they destroy my armor, the next thing you know they have spread all over the map

You and others like you are exactly what is wrong with the Battlefield2 community.

I cant stand playing Karkand. It's a great map, but players sit on their brains when they play it. It's they way they act when playing it that drives me to drink.
