The only servers that should have these rules are the ones that have USMC Carrier Maps.

Even then, the USMC Carrier should not be a safe-zone for planes already in the air.

Peoplekillingmachine I think you might have misinterpreted the thread. We're not talking about camping the uncap or spawn camping. I'm referring to engaging targets that have left the uncap and returning for protection due to a "No fighting at uncap" rule.

I can tell you how my clan's server does it: once you leave the uncap or start shooting, it's game on. There are no "time outs." We felt that it's pretty uncool to have a tank or chopper shooting you as soon as you spawn. People get frustrated and leave the server, we don't have enough to keep the round going, everyone loses. Hence the "don't rape the uncap" rule. Then people tried to exploit the rule by sniping from the uncap or firing TVGMs FROM THE UNCAP! They thought that made them invincible. So we revised it to be a kind of spawn protection like UT. If you shoot, open season. This counts for the TK'ers on the runway, too. If a sniper sees a muzzle flash he can engage that target.
Of course, then we had people who would turn around and run from fights to get back to "safe." There is no ollie-ollie-oxenfree clause. Once you leave the uncap for any reason, people can kill you. If you try to retreat, you will just show your back and get killed anyhow.

I mostly play Wake and i have never been kicked/banned following an F35 back to the carrier to down him.

BOTTOM LINE AND IT'S BEEN SAID TIME AND AGAIN - IT'S A WAR GAME - THERE IS NO SAFE HAVEN IN WAR.

If that server's admin has an issue with it, find another server! Easy fix

I never understood the rule about not attacking the carrier, you know the essex is going to try to shoot you down.

I think the servers that have that rules should not allow people in the essex period.

If it locks on me or fires at me you can bet your *** I'm gunna make a circle and come back with cannons.

Each map has its own personality. Take wake. Hardly no server use's uncap rule. However you have to have no uncap rule for oman.

Don't like don't go there, or get banned. Go to the banning server http: fourms. Telling them your brother, your sister, your naked mom did it.

Not attacking an uncap rule was created by *****-*** admins and server operators who wanted to be able to get into a plane unhindered, so they could rape the rest of the players from the air. Plain and simple.

In the good old days, I'd go the back way up to an enemy base, blow up it's assets, and as I wait for supplies, I'd blow up planes leaving, C4 the runway, mine the vehicles, C4 the choppers, etc.

Why noone came after me to clear me out is the enemy team's problem. But no, instead of doing that, they'd rather ban me for doing so nowadays.

I feel like being observant: he's absolutely right about it being completely ridiculous. Why would you stop giving chase because the jet goes over the "safe zone"?

aw i really don't have an opinion on the subject. plus, i've never had a problem with dialup. i honestly just had the urge to be a jerk - kind of like my 1-tk-per-month rule to keep blood pressure low.

i personally like the no attack on uncaps unless holding all flags rule. but following a jet over thier airfield should be allowed at any time.
