I feel like being observant: he's absolutely right about it being completely ridiculous. Why would you stop giving chase because the jet goes over the "safe zone"?

Without being too much of a prick, I think you need to take your own advice.

It's lame to attack aircraft on the ground... But if you/they engage anywhere after they take off, no hiding after that!

You did not spawn camp in my opinion; they're p*****s.

No fighting at uncap. I hate this rule. I'm a havoc player. In every game I've played, I've been the thorn in the side of the opposing team, behind enemy lines causing havoc and disruption. To have this taken away takes a great part of gameplay away.

Giving players a safezone in war is ********.

It does not say that those three areas are part of Switzerland and must not be entered by foreign forces...
If they weren't designed to be attacked, none of them would have defenses. On Sharqi, clubhouse has a TOW and and AA. Outskirts has a TOW, and that one far to the south has an AA.

Fact is, if you're getting spawn-raped as MEC on Sharqi, you deserve it. And it's no different on any other map.

Looks like you've got whinging down-pat. Now it's time to learn how to defend, or learn how to attack.

That's what I tell the whiners on the servers crying about being attacked at their uncap "Well then get your fat-asses out of your main base and you won't have to worry about it".

I agree but it does have precedent in RL. Chinese airspace was a no-fly zone for US pilots during the Korean War even though we were at war with China.

At war with China? I don't think so... China has never been at war against America. Ever. And American planes wouldn't have been able to fly over China, because some countries don't take kindly to fighter-planes flying over their territory, especially if they're flown by people at war with an allied country that is on your border.

Sounds like another american trying to re-write history, based upon an understanding that seems to have been discovered on the back of a cereal packet.

W_Parmenter the US was never at war with China. By the way if you are at war with a country, the neighboring neutral country does not normally allow you to have military airfields or bases on their land.
Hey hey Combat-Quokka I'm sure you have uninformed people in your country also.:p

If you cant attack uncaps, there shouldn't be any at all. Problem solved.
I don’t see admin's kicking or banning for taking over enemy main bases that are cappable. Oh yeah that’s right they always seem to be on the team with the uncapp main base. Sorry for that little flame but the truth hurts.

Re: No Fighting at Uncap Rule

Using the MEC spawn points on Sharqi as an example of uncap camping is a terrible example, I for one have never been in that situation on Sharqi do to the number of uncaps, distant to them etc..yes its possble to keep the MEC heli grounded but in doing so your back is wide open so troops and tanks can advance..so its a give and take..keep MEC chopper down or bail on supporting your team.
And for the love of god admit the uselessness of any AA unless the target is damged somewhat, the pilot sucks soemthing fierce, or the AA is mobile.

A more rational example would be...
Kark I/O..if your playing with vehicles and the MEC have rushed your uncaps, your team truely stinks..now it is possbile for an occasional rush, but hardly a true uncap rape is possble with Kark vehicles...
Now Kark without vehicles..can be a rape fest for the uncaps, well the 2 in the front...but if your smart, and some of your team is then the people rapin the uncap are a pack of morons going offensive in a time were there defense has the upper hand..thus pushing forward leaves th eback open for smart players and makes the fall back option harder...

Maps with carriers..the carrier is hardly a viable weapon against mutiple jets, even harder to find 2 people willign to man the essex targets, I mean guns.
Yes its war, and yes its brutal..but its really no fun when 3-4 guys from your team eliminate the rest of the team doing anything accept watchign the flyboys rack up kills. Plus lets be honest and admit how easy it is to rape a carrier. I look at it this way, whats more fun flying circles to reload and then attack sitting ducks..or allowing the other team to actually give you a challenge.

To sum it all up, servers make this rule to stimulate "fun" in there server.
In no way are they taking from your fun, unless your fun involves eliminating challenge. To allow 3-4 guys to dominate another teams chances of advancement hurts more people then helps, also we have to figure in Arty strikes at these bases increasing the stagnation even more. You have a bunch of guys just trying to play for more then a few seconds or minutes, and on the other side of the ball you have an army of ground forces and troops waiting around for some kind of action.

So come on guys remeber this isnt real war, nor is it all about you and your fun. Not every person playing Bf2 is a organized player coordinated and smart enough to make the moves to advance, so at some point you have to cater to them.
You take the fun from the majority and whats left? A game that no one plays do to the fact that theres a chance they could spend 20 minutes doing nothing..an empty server. So how do you fill servers and increase the fun..give everyone a chance to play, allow all 60+ people to do more then die.
All in all, sportsmanship explains everything I just said.

If the US wasn't at war with China, then who were the 70,000 men in PLA uniforms who surrounded the US 1st Marine Division and 7th Infantry Division at Chosin Reservoir? Even the Chinese admit they lost 390,000 men in that war.

                        Talk about revisionist history...

It was but 80% of the troops (not including S. Korean) under UN command were Americans and they were commanded by an American. The Aussies fought against China in that one too, but I guess Quokka skipped school the day they covered the Korean War.

Re: No Fighting at Uncap Rule

I can tell you how my clan's server does it: once you leave the uncap or start shooting, it's game on. There are no "time outs." We felt that it's pretty uncool to have a tank or chopper shooting you as soon as you spawn. People get frustrated and leave the server, we don't have enough to keep the round going, everyone loses. Hence the "don't rape the uncap" rule. Then people tried to exploit the rule by sniping from the uncap or firing TVGMs FROM THE UNCAP! They thought that made them invincible. So we revised it to be a kind of spawn protection like UT. If you shoot, open season. This counts for the TK'ers on the runway, too. If a sniper sees a muzzle flash he can engage that target.
Of course, then we had people who would turn around and run from fights to get back to "safe." There is no ollie-ollie-oxenfree clause. Once you leave the uncap for any reason, people can kill you. If you try to retreat, you will just show your back and get killed anyhow.

That's just how we did it...
