edit: I believe TotalBF2 would get its face rocked by CAL. Same thing happened in the BF2Combat vs. CAL match in March or April or whenever that was.
BF2C has gotten alot better since then, I dont think CAL would dominate again. Dont forget, alot of CAL players actually participate in BF2C since then.

I honestly think the CAL players are overrated, and their tactics are against the ROE of BF2C ie C4 spawncamping. Plus the C4 chucking and dolphin diving have gone bye bye, now the CAL players actually have to find a new exploit.

          Re: The Truth About CAL

The difference between a player like me and most CAL players is this: While I'm a one man killing machine that is highly adaptable to any given scenario I haven't attuned myself to squad tactics that are absolutely central to winning top level CAL matches. Raw skill is a part of CAL - no doubt. But the most important aspect to CAL play is highly coordinated teamwork with a set of static individuals you play with day in and day out. These groups of players develop relatively unskilled but highly coordinated tactics that give them a serious advantage in any give map. For example CAL players have mastered tactics such as aiming for a precise pixel location with a unique vehicle/TOW emplacement and killing another vehicle (such as a helicopter or airplane) from across the map simply by shooting at said pixel. No skill involved but rather painstaking experimentation and practice.

In a head unscripted confrontation with a player like me I eat most CAL players for breakfast but admittedly if I found myself in a highly scripted and limited match with a set group of players I have never met against cheese tactics like chain spawn sprinting I lose purely because that is not how I have decided to play the game. Don't doubt for a second though purely for being a valuable skillful player I easily surpass all but the most elite of CAL players. I speak of course of the naturally skilled players who started out and played in a very similar fashion to how I currently play but at some point got sucked in to a squad to utilize that talent. I personally have bypassed countless offer for CAL clans simply because I find that style of gameplay to be rather shallow.

Another very large difference between me and most CAL players is I don't feel the need to grey-area cheat to gain an advatange over other players. Even though the CAL crowd doesn't like to hear it most CAL players use all of the grey-area crap like custom hand-written key configuration files that cannot be configured normally, custom console ping settings to maxamize hit detection, macroing utilites (G15 keyboard, AHK ect..), customized gimped visual settings for maximum advantage and other little gameplay hacks and exploits (like the now nerfed prone/crouch spam to shoot over walls without actually exposing yourself). None aside from the macroing is illegal in Battlefield 2 but my point being that 99% of BF2 player (including myself) use none of the above and instead rely on nothing more than skill and experience rather than cheap parlor tricks listed above.

Well I hope you didn't see me on that server because I was never on a Mashtuur server yesterday! Maybe one of the other guys we have quite a few of us with "S" handles. I spend what little time I still play on Karkand servers and maybe a Wake server here or there. :)

In CAL and TWL it is comman for the game to played with just win tactics. Realism players can find no room or respect there, If you want to use whatever the game allows and not real military tactics then they are for you. Myself untill they come up with a realism division I'll stay away.

This is untrue, BF2C uses unlocks in locked servers all the time and you are only allowed to use the unlocks which you have earned on ranked servers. CAL and TWL do not adapt the same settings not because it isn't possible, but because it gives an advantage to people who play more on ranked servers and those who want to spend money on expansion packs. CAL did not want to force people to having to buy the crappy expansion packs so that they could have an even playing field, it just didn't make sense.

It is true that what separates CAL players from pubbers and top tier CAL teams from the lesser ones is teamwork and strategy, however you cannot have this teamwork without the people on your team first mastering their own individual skills. You have to be able to rely on people to have the talent to do what it is that the strat requires them to. Teamwork isn't just about making the best strats, it's about who can execute them the best due to their communication, coordination, and especially individual talent. A great strat is no help at all if the individual members on your team don't have the skill and talent to execute it properly.

I do not doubt this for a minute. One of the myth's about CAL is that all CAL players are of equal skill level, people assume because they have beaten one person from CAL they could beat them all. There are many different levels of competition and skill within CAL and I'm sure the lower and mid level players would have a hard time with some pubbers. However the problem arises when these all star pub players make the statement that they could take on the best CAL has to offer, which simply isn't true. The top 5 teams in CAL are all comprised of some of the best players the BF series has ever seen. They are the elite, the best of the best, and naturally you can see their frustration when a pubber says they could beat them easily and tells them they suck because of their ranked stats.

You find the gameplay in CAL rather shallow? That's weird because I thought it was the exact opposite. When I go into a pub server, it's the same thing, every single time. There is never anything new and it's as if the battle is scripted, nothing ever changes, it's the same old boring crap. In CAL however there are always new tactics and strategies being made which can greatly alter the match and make it much more exciting. Because of the way it's set up you can get some very close matches and interesting come backs. CAL matches are not only fun to compete in, but very fun to watch. The matches that are broad casted are usually very close and come right down to the wire. For example the 12v12 S2 finals between Strike and HOT or the recent CAL-M 8v8 semi final match between 20ID and X6.

This is very untrue and based on mere speculation. In my experience very little players in CAL ever used macros and hacked. CAL has a much better anti-cheat system than mere pub servers or other leagues such as TWL. They have dedicated anti-cheat admins who are constantly looking at demos of suspicious material, making sure known cheaters stay out of the leagues, and even making their own anti-cheat programs to work hand-in-hand with punkbuster. I can tell you that I always see a lot more questionable and suspicious behaviour in pub servers and in TWL matches than I ever have in a CAL match, especially against the top teams in CAL that would hardly benefit from an outside cheat source anyways.

I find it extremely funny though that many pub players consider tactics like bunny hopping and dolphin diving cheap. It is a simple method of dodging the enemies bullets which can be done by all players and is not exploiting the games functions, just like strafing side to side in BF42. The only reason EA removed it last patch was because so many pubbers whined about it. EA has never been one to listen to reason, they simply look at what the masses of idiots have to say and then make their decision based off of that. Although this approach is good for business, it's terrible for balancing and patching the game. Although many pubbers don't want to hear it, dolphin diving did require a large amount of skill. It's not just randomly mashing the keyboard, but you had to continue jumping, going prone, moving side to side, all while still trying to kill your enemy doing the same. It took me a long time to learn how to do this efficiently while still maintaining the accuracy of my shots. A lot of pubbers simply got mad because they were getting owned by people who were dolphin diving all the time. This debate happened inside CAL also where the weaker teams whined about it being a cheap tactic and said if it was removed they would destroy the top tier team. Well guess what happened, EA removed it, the top teams stayed on top, and the weaker ones and pubbers found something new to whine about. As is the cycle of an online video game.

It's easy to classify anything as a cheap tactic. For example using the one bomb mode, which I know you have been known to do. This could be considered an exploit because you are taking advantage of a known bug in the game. Although I'd hardly consider it cheap as everyone can do it and it just lets you do what the game should have let you do in the first place (drop 1 bomb at a time), it is just as "cheap" as dolphin diving, bunny hopping, C4 tossing, nade spamming, and every other tactic ever mentioned and whined about.

Like I said before all the so called "cheap tactics" used in competition are used just as often in public servers. CAL players are simply the ones recognized doing it because they find them first and execute them the best.

Planewhore seems to talk the talk quite a bit. BUt looking at his stats (stats dont mean everything but when you talk like Planewhore i'd think your stats would be stunning), he doesn't seem uber. Watching one of his MAshtuur tankwhoring videos, he just spawncamps a base to make his KDR rise. His jet KDR was probably done raping a certain large vehicle with a certain almost invincible vehicle. His rifle KDR is good, but Planewhore tell me you could rock:

And proof of this can be found where? I doubt that any of the top 5 teams ever used macros, for a really good infantry player a macro is a disadvantage because once activated it locks you into that sequence of keys of whatever it is you're doing where as if someone is just dolphin diving but has the skills and quick fingers for it then you can mix and match and make your movements seem more random and harder to hit.

Not impressed by the video or the weapon. First thing... Saluca... when you cheat it's nothing to be proud of. No I'm no talking about aimbot or wallhack but rather an autofire script that gives you a real advantage with a particular set of weapons (burstfire in particular). I had the exact same script myself (purely for testing purposes during the macro debacle) and when I used it in single player all the tell tale signs of an the same macro I tested can be seen in your video. It's the same exact macro people use for "easy" TV missile fire. The obvious signs of macro usage include an extremely fast consistent rate of fire and the odd habit of yelling "Clear!" 10 times everytime you drop down to revive someone. Who honestly spams the fire button rapidly when dropping down to revive a player (seeing as it can break the paddles)? Nobody except the macro n00bs.

Secondly, the M16 is a decent weapon for sure but fact is numbers don't lie and the G36E is identical to the M16 when it comes to ironsights and firing modes but the only difference is the G36E has better numbers in every category that counts from ready time to deviation.

So stop cheating by the usage of your cheapass macros Saluca, get some real skill, use the G36E instead, learn how to sync up your audio to your video and maybe just maybe you'll have a video worth watching.
I'm just using my freaking fingers

When someone yells out clear 10 times in a row it's a bug, not a macro. You'll go to revive someone, you're shock paddles won't work or recharge but your soldier will continue to yell clear for several seconds, it's happened to me and is very annoying, but it sure as hell isn't a macro. lmao
