Pubbers will use unlocks because clearly you play this game to get every advantage out of it. Advantage meaning you bought the game and want to use all the unlocks and every advantage that is offered because it makes the gameplay experience more fun for you. You want your money's worth and nothing is wrong with that.

Eh ... no. I use the L96A1 because it is the same as the M24sws. By picking it when playing MEC/PLA I ensure myself of keeping in the rythem I have been when I was on the USMC side. The M24sws and the L96A1 are the same weapon as far as BF2 is concerned, neither has an advantage over the other.

The reason why unlocks are not used in competative games is simply because clan-match servers are not ranked so you cannt use them on there. It has nothing to do with being more skilled/leet/whatever.

Ah another fond memory, but you got the story wrong old buddy! I remember when that thread was posted in CAL and everyone laughed at the self-proclaimed "Grandmaster aviator". I also remember posting on the forums telling you how terrible you were (good times). There were a lot of arguments between us and I issued several challenges, but you would never accept.

Then one day I happened to join the same server that you were on. No, I didn't follow you, sorry to disappoint. It wasn't that I didn't want to prove you wrong and completely humiliate you, I really just didn't think that highly of you to waste my time doing so. So anyways like I said I hopped on the same server as you and jumped in the SU-30 while you were in the F-18. I dogfought you for a bit and took you down bomber vs fighter (kind of pathetic) 1v1 until you were on fire and bailed like a little girl (gotta protect that kdr :laugh: ) We both talked **** after I shot you down, with you giving every excuse you could think of as to why you got shot down, and then the round ended. When the next round started on the same map, you switched to china for whatever reason (tired of the mean enemy bomber maybe) and and some pub scrub took the plane, so having nothing better to do I team killed him. I'm not going to defend myself team killing or try and justify it, some may see it as wrong and immature, but I'm not going to let someone I know I can destroy take the plane I wish to fly. You can call me an *** hole, you're probably right, but it's not gonna happen.

Anyways back to the story, we spent the rest of the round at the airfield arguing about how terrible you were. When the round ended the server switched to Dragon valley 64, I ended up being USMC while you were China. I was so excited that I'd get to play against you with the worst plane in the game to show you just how "good" you were but before I even loaded in, or anyone for that matter, you were already camping the carrier with the J10. You must have a powerful computer, I will compliment you on that, but that's about all I can compliment you on. I finally realised how you had gotten so many points, loading in before everyone and going straight to the airfield! And here I was being a fool actually trying to dogfight people, boy was my face red. Well after a while of you camping the carrier and me never being able to take off, I left the server. I was bored and felt I accomplished all I needed to do, shooting you down with a bomber vs a fighter, so I probably went and bought a slurpee or look at porn or something, or cyber with clark jones. <3

So that's the end of the story. Did I try and track you down somehow and find you someday? No I simply happened to load up on the same server as you did. Did I team kill? You bet your *** I did. Did you ever shoot me down? No but you're amazing at attacking the carrier!:laugh: Did I ever switch teams to try and team kill you? Ha, not a chance, I wouldn't waste my time and if I ever did I wouldn't have tried to team kill you, I damn sure would have succeeded.

Don't worry I'm sure the admins will lock this thread and the people frequenting this forum will still look at you as their all powerful master jet pilot! Oh how I wish I could be so lucky.:laugh:

I got a laugh out of how much you felt you had to lie. It was actually so bad I stopped reading it half way through. If you killed me where is the screenshot? Honestly after stalking me countless hours with a bunch of the other "elite" CAL pilots you think you would've saved that delicious screenshot of shooting down the grandmaster aviator for the horrendous crime of posting an aviation tutorial video for NEWBIES.

The one player who legitimately shot me down over 2 years ago (BullShark) still has the screenshot! He treasures that screenshot because he knows shooting down the (former) best Battlefield 2 pilot is something to be proud of. If you'd like me to get the screenshots of me shooting you down 10 times in a row I'd be glad to dig through the CAL forum archives but I'll spare you the additional embarrassment. Yes I fragged you a couple times on the carrier for ****s and giggles but I let you get airborne at least 5 or 6 times before I blasted you down. The funniest part though was at the end of the round when I ended the game with something like 80-0 K/D and you left the server without saying a word like a dog with its tail between its legs. This was in the days before the uber A2A missiles so it didn't matter the slightest if I was in a J-10 or an F-35B because I was just that good.

I hate to wound that pro gamer ego of yours but fact is I'm better than you, I'm better than 99% of CAL-O or CAL-M players and quite frankly I'm probably the all around best battlefield 2 player as of current.

I have seen a hell of a lot of BF2 frag videos including any/all that have gotten some spotlight in the different BF2 communities and like I said before none have been by pilots with any credibility and certainly none from people who I'd consider top pilots. Don't just assume because they say they play in TWL or CAL they are one of the better ones playing in that particular league.

Here we go again, "they all play in a tin can and you cant see them, but they do exist and they are the best". Technically, I have no doubt that there are better dogfighter than I am. I have absolutely no doubt. We can start up with Cali, and hes a competitive player, isnt he?

But the fact that youre trying to say that there are fantom BF2 pilots who are better than PW, makes me feel youre stretching it. In ATA, I have no doubt that there are player who beat PW, a lot of them have a screenshot to show for it. And it is a highly competitive area afterall, where skill levels are everchanging. But as for ATS, I have not seen a pilot to do what he can do, not on video, and not in game. Can there be better? Yes. Have I seen them? No. Have I played and seen it all? No. And this is common sense. Yet youre trying to prove gravity.

I'm not going to argue plane specifications, when it comes down to it the F-18 is a much better plane than the Su-30 in a 1v1 dogfight, period. If you think the Su-30 is even close to an even match to the F-18 then I challenge you to a dogfight, you can have the Su and I'll take the 18,we'll see how well you do. My point was that I was not at all impressed with pw, taking him out in the clearly inferior plane with little effort at all.

Youre almost trying to say that the Su-30 is the worst jet in the game. Youre trying to make it such an impressive achievement. It reall is not. Su-30 is the best of all 3 bombers and can be used effectively as a dogfighter. Technically, F18 is better, no arguments there. But the difference gap between the two is nowhere near that impressive as lets say... F-35B and MiG/J10.

I am not trying create any sort of impression, I'm simply telling it like it is. Odds are you haven't faced many of the pilots in CAL and even more likely you haven't faced the ones considered to be the "best". If you want to talk simple mathematics then ok, lets that do. Good, or even exceptional pilots are a dime a dozen, but for the ones considered to be great, to be the best of the best, I would have a hard time naming even 10. Of those 10 most would rarely ever pub and probably half of them don't play the game anymore. BF2 has gone gold, that means 500,000 copies and in it's peak there were 150,000+ people playing online at any given time on tens of thousands of servers. So you're odds of playing against the best pilots are rather small actually, it's simple probability.

Yup, lets miss the obvious clues, common sense and go ahead and prove gravity.

A perfect example is the quote in your sig, dolphin diving, nade spamming, noob tubing, c4 tossing, prone spamming, etc did/do exist everywhere. CAL players are simply recognized the most for doing these kinds of things because of the simple reason that they do it best.

This here shows just how well you understand what Im trying to say. The sig is to critisize players who would use macros to exploit hit detection. Basically to critisize cheaters. But fo course you see right through me, right?< I find THAT, to be hilarious.

I know for a fact that two very respected CAL teams used to scrim each other with minimap hacks back in the BF1942 days, now I'm not saying they cheated during official matches or anything but why would you wanna practice using hacks? It makes no sense. The leaders of both clans we're openly laughing about it on IRC, I strongly doubt they we're kidding about it too. I'd love to share some logs but this was like 2-3 years ago. Needless to say, I eventually dropped out of competition and couldn't be happier about it.

Hey, this sh!t has picked up!

I can see a big sign of "rapefest" doing bling-bling, but as soon as I sign up the net contract I might just write up my name.

Truth to be told, placing a bunch of top notch players who are used to play in a well oiled machine, against a bunch of guys with varing skill level who are used to solo, only one possible outcome comes to my mind.

I still remember the BF2C vs CAL game.

One unlock gun having similar characteristics to another does not change the fact other unlocks give you a clear advantage. That statement is so general its hard for me to argue with it.

We don't use unlocks in competitive play because some of the guns and kits are ridiculous put together. However, some have said maybe we should try unlocks to throw some mixture in but many still reject it.

As far as being more skilled with the vanilla weapons I would have to say we would be. Clearly it is our bread and butter and what we use on a constant basis. You are making a very poor argument trying to say that practicing within a certain area doesn't make you better. Would you rather have a person that flies a plane constantly or one who doesn't fly it at all? Who would be more skilled in that area?

As for the PlaneWhore comment about being better than majority of the CAL players and being the best BF2 player ever. That is fine you are entitled to your opinon. Now when you want to step out of your world and into ours and prove that.......the doors at CAL are always open. It would never hurt to have another player.
