Hey blade.verzilli TF everything ok with you m8 :)

I am still taking notes on my distance shots and from what position they were taken. It evens out on distances between 200 and 300 meters with a slight favor for the 200 - 250 range. I dont have the figures here right now but I would guess at least 80% of my shots are from the prone position.

I am currently working on a shorter distance (0 -150 meters) from a standing position on Gulf of Oman and mixing it up with prone short/medium distance (0 -150 and 150 - 300 meters) on Dalian Plant.

have been sorting out my babygirls bday party ect(2 on nov 20th)

but still get the odd game in.

wake is my main map atm.

good mixture of long-medium-short distance fighting.

Ok call me a noob but how exactly can you tell what the distance was on a shot in game?

Ok Dairuka, I asked your acceptance for me to see you in Xfire. I'm ready for some serious sniping tomorrow, what maps you prefer? For me all city maps are just fine. Do you have Armored Fury pack? Operation Harvest is one of my alltime favourites as an sniper, that suits more than good for me. :)

Anyhow if sniping get bored, we can try other kits also. Whatever you like...

Hi all,

I made my sniping record last night. Current figure is 513m

It was so beautifull shot that I must share it with you fellows. I was laying in the gantry on the South Docks, sniping MEC players hiding on the Reactor Towers. After while I notice someone MG:ing our helo far away somewhere near North Docs. When zooming, I saw a jeep on the bank between Warehouse and North Dock. I couldn't see the gunner only the jeep was rendered. I took one shot with large elevation a bit side of the estimated line of the gunner, just to find a correct elevation. First shot hit the car so I had a pretty good hint where to shoot. With the second shot I took the gunner in the line. Click...you killed xxxx.

God Damn, I was so pleased that I forgot to save the name of that fellow. Then I created a squad and placed Defend here mark to the place where that car was located. 513m says my screen :laugh::laugh::laugh:

600m exactly, was on the square roof on Karkand and shot somone on the cement (or near), complete fluke!!! Was aiming at some else and shot about 4 shots with the L96A1.

My best round as sniper was 98 kills - 8 deaths (1 of them by artillery from own commander!!!) I've got 170 hours as sniper, got 17 kick votes that round cos apparently i was cheating!!!??? Ive got the prone headshot down to a tee:) Anyone want any tips give me a shout:)
Even got "barz26 is in the wall in the hotel" (this was after the ban on vehicles on roof and i was at the train accident but anyway??!!)

Im going for my Spec ops Expert badge now so you're safe:) lol, joking

600m :laugh: !!! Thats awesome, must be somekind of a record. I havent heard that anybody has pulled beter result out. You fellows have beautifull kill figures in one round. Almost 100 kills means that you have single handed been in responsible for taking 1/3 of the opponents out during that round. Respect

And there are so much winers saying snipers are useless. Well...read above and learn.

Truely bazzamattaza, you made a 600 meter shot on SAK ... you know the fog starts at 150 meters right and allows for maybe 200 meters of vision if you got a target that is skylining on SAK.

If you were compensating for bulletdrop on a 200 meter target from whatever roof on that map it would still be either surpressing the barrel or aiming dead on (depending on how high your position is on said roof).

This table shows that ...



... aiming for a 200 meter target requires a compensation of 20 centimeters (above the targets head at that distance) for a headshot. This is in a level firing field.
Taking into account that you made your shot from a roof the compensation would either be 0 (dead on) or minus .. cm's. (aiming below the head).

The compensation for making a 600 meter shot would require you to aim 1.76 meters (!) (at that distance, man's height) in a level firing field. Even with the deduction of being in an elevated position on the map you would have to aim at least 7 times higher than you would for any 200 meter shot.

But even if you got a fluke shot of and hit somebody at that distance, how did you make the visual confirmation on that kill. On SAK a 600 meter kill means a kill which is 400 meters beyond any visual range possible.

I used to be really good a sniping. I had a % of 62 but I stoped sniping and now that I tried it again it has been going down to 47.04

I sometimes lose feeling with it as well, when I have eebn away for work a week or so. The trick is to take your time (dont rush any shots) and start building up your technique on the less hectic maps from a short distance (between 50 and 150 meters) and gradually work from that on greater distances.

Mine is also 47% and I consider it to be quite good. Of course if you only shoot static targets, then it's nothing to brag about, but I shoot almost every target I can see. Shooting long distance moving targets with sniper rifle is one of the most challenging tasks in this game. I'm no master of it, but still pretty good. My best kills must have been in Wake Island when shooting running snipers from the arty island. I bunch of them have met their maker in AA site on the left cape. :)
