Should have gotten it earlier m8 :) You can do without most of the second tier unlocks. Only the G36E is a real improvement as compared to all other second tiers.

The L96A1 is the same in most aspects as the M24sws. The reload on the L96A1 is slightly faster (not really important imo) and the crosshair on the L96A1 is different and thinner (better say some, allthough I prefer the sexeh sound of the M24sws anyday).

Have you tested Multiplay servers. My ping is quite decent in those serveres. Also Jolt.co.uk and OBC(Old Bastards Clan) is okay for me.

God damn man you have almost 5 K/D ratio as an sniper, mine is about 2. Lots of learning for me ahead .

There are two ays to determine the distance ...

1. Go Squadleader and set a Waypointmarker like Move To on the exact position of your target (or when he is dead on the duffelbag), press Alt (default) and read the distance of that Waypoint. (most accurate)

2. Spot the target and switch to your map and bring out the old measuring tape and do some math from that with the CP's as reference (less accurate)

86 Kills, and 12 deaths as a sniper.

51 or so of those kills came from the L9A61.
20 or so of those kills acme from the M24.
4 of those kills came from the MR-444.
11 of those kills came from Claymores.

I was pretty darn happy with that round.

Unfortunately it was on an Infantry Only server; so it's not 'that' big of an accomplishment. =(

I rarely go for 'extremely' long ranged shots. I have more luck closing in on the enemy; suckering them to go prone so they can shoot me, and plucking them before they get their first shot off. God that angers people so much... It's also very gratifying.

My guess is, my longest ranged headshot is around 350m on Sharqui. Nothing spectacular, but... oh well.

Had about that same thing on IO mode at Jalalabad

M95 from dock to carrier on Dalian, take out dem chopper pilots and jet pilots before they know its coming ^_^

Pffft going for distance is a waste of bullets unless you can hit as often as you do if the enemy is near. My farthest shot was from the trees by the construction base on kubra to the hangars, I don't know how fart hat is but I think its decent.

From what I remember that is somewhere in the vicinity of 300-350 meters, that is if you mean the hangars for the airplanes and not the ones near the CP :)

I have a 18 kill deathstreak with sniper rifle (check sig)
and 13 of those were confirmed hs's.

my kill streak with the sniper(l96a1) is 32.

my long range kill is about 400m(there or there abouts)

my preferd range is 250m( can spot better for my team at this range)

my kdr is average (i never swap to pistol when i 1st started)

i mix it up when sniping with l96a1 and m95(m95 is a old fav of mine)

love the headshots but usualy go for body shots(it looks funny when u kill a sprinting infantaryman :) )

Wow you have played about 60 hours and your killstreak is only 18? In my first online game my kill streak was 23.

I am still taking notes on my distance shots and from what position they were taken. It evens out on distances between 200 and 300 meters with a slight favor for the 200 - 250 range. I dont have the figures here right now but I would guess at least 80% of my shots are from the prone position.

I am currently working on a shorter distance (0 -150 meters) from a standing position on Gulf of Oman and mixing it up with prone short/medium distance (0 -150 and 150 - 300 meters) on Dalian Plant.

Yeah, check those servers out if it works. Not pressure, if it works it works, if not, well s h i t happens and so


I have been using SVD past couple of days. I'm getting to like that gun more and more, it's pretty good even in close combat. Actually I think that it's not intended to be used further than 200-250m. Sight is awful for longer ranges but it totally rocks in medium ranges like 100-150m and so.

0 - 150 is short in my book, medium starts at 150.

But you are right about the SVD and the Type 88. Up to 150 they eat up anything you throw at them. At 250 you still have a decent view on quarries, after that is gets harder and will take more rounds to down a quarry.
