I dont think it should be based on points, ranther it based on time played, that way you at least have a better understanding of whats going on by watching what others do

... nothing a simple tutorial couldn't fix. It would save the beginner a lot of time and frustration: with that knowledge in hand, he could focus on practicing to pass his license.

Stop being a whiney heli whore baby and share. How about being a gunner and giving new pilots pointers? Or, are you just selfish?
Im not a high ranking player, or a jet/heli whore, if I can get in the jet then I get in the jet, I dont find any need to TK for it although Ive been TK'd at least 20 times in the last 3-4 days for taking the jet, hell I was even shot out of the pilot seat yesterday while the engine was winding up, then the asshat had the nerve to say I stood in front of HIS jet while he was trying to take off, his name was farva10, and after looking at his stats I can see he does this on a regular bases....look at his stats, over 1000 TK's and hes not a very high ranked player and hasnt played much either

so shove you elitists opinion you know where

I hate being tk for a plane or helo. Its the gayest of things someone can do. i agree that one should learn the effects first before trying to fly, but if there good at flying then let them fly. Its just a video game for god sakes lol, but some people act like its a job and lose their freaken minds over it acting like its real combat. I like a fair game and if I play a game that is one sided I usually switch sides just to make it a challenge. If I lose so what. Its better than being the guy who switches side just because he's getting owned making the game even more lame. If some noob wants to fly let him fly...he'll probably crash and figure it out but in a month or two he'll probably shoot everything out of the sky and hit everything on the ground. how else are you going to learn. I got bored of just being a ground pounder and was getting bored with the game so I started flying in empty servers then in smaller servers. We were all noobs once remember lol

I don't understand the TK'ing for a plane/helo. Course, I don't like to fly either. I like to ground pound with the random tank time.

Re: Ive come to the conclusion...

I havent checked this thread in a while but to answer a reply to my earlier post in this thread. The reason why there needs to be a pilot class is to prevent people from getting in the Air Craft as assualt class and getting thier expert assualt class badge this way (the reasoning applies to any class and commander also). Then the reason for needing 1000 points before you can fly was to keep the new people, who dont have a clue, out of the vehicles.
Im sure every one of us at one time or another have joined a squad with a player who we knew had the expert medic badge and just couldnt get a heal or revive from them. Or worse, got into a chopper with the expert chopper pilot only to find that they flew you right into the middle of the enemy and just bailed out, no warning or anything. Then you wound up getting killed by an enemy jet pilot since your chopper pilot flew straight and level then hovered for the jet pilot to get a lock and then bailed out.
In other words those requirements I spoke about were simply to ensure the supposed experts really were experts (as much as can be in this game anyway) and the vehicle operators (pilots, etc.) have at least some Idea how the game works ( as in target selection ) and what will help kill the most enemy soldiers. Team kills should also do more than subtract points like add respawn time or something. Thats my Ideas anyway. . . . . . . .Red

Re: Ive come to the conclusion...

The people against a newbie taking a helicopter or airplane, simply are against it, because it takes the airplane or helicopter away from them.

Thats fine, as the people who are against the newbie, have just as much of a right to take a plane or a helicopter as the newbie does.

I care not about proficiency. I don't get jealous if I don't get my Helicopter. Instead I pull out my gun and go hunting, while you do your thing in the sky. Just don't blow me up, or get in my way, and I promise I will never get angry at you always hogging the helicopter.

yeah thats how i thought it worked until some noob shot me out of the heli with his m95. i just got in the game and no beef with him and he runs up and blows me out. i didnt even have a gunner in my seat yet. guy got wasted less than a min or two later too. so many deaths and so few kills. his gunner was a private first class too. man was i pissed. jetfreak i think was his name. total idiot. i dedicated the entire round to ruin him.

I didn't say that it doesn't happen. I just said it hadn't happened to me. I will tell you that since I moved to Korea I have not been intentionally TK'd at all. Everyone I've played with has been quite friendly and many speak English when I tell them that a squad member doesn't understand Korean.
Not everyone here is an expert at helo piloting but that's normal no matter where you go. These guys at least take turns and seem to know their roles on the team no matter what they are doing at the time.

i completely disagree, its a game there for to have fun, not "war simulator" if that was the case, people who play games for a bit of fun here and there, who dont want to dedicate there life to a game have wasted 30 pounds or 50 dollars.

People should stop obsessing about whether they get to the bleedin' chopper/jet or not. It's hardly important. I just do whatever's my team needs or what's convenient...

Who can't fly these damn things any way? Forward, roll back on the mouse and your up and flying.

It's not that hard to at least get off the ground and buzz around.

I really don't see enough people ditching jets at take off to make it an issue. Sure they don't get up there and go 40-2, but who cares? I'll tell you who cares, the guy who can go 40-2. No one else.

The only people I see crying about it are the ACE pilots. That doesn't make sense. Are not those the people who need the least ammount of time in the air?

I think the underlying motivation here is ego. They don't feel the planes are being crashed, they just feel they could do a much better job. Which of course is true, they can do a much better job. But that does not justify some sort of pecking order in a game that is essentially supposed to be fun and team orientated.

I dont' see any other passion for possesion of the other vehicles on this scale. That's probably because they're not as imbalanced as jets.

I said it one of my first posts in this forum and I'll say it again:

"The weapon that yeilds the most power for time spent mastering it will attract a larger portion of shallow people."

                              This thread proves that hypothesis.
