Ive come to the conclusion...

That flying any jet/helo should be a right that has to be earned, in real life you dont see any Privates flying fighter jets, so why should you be allowed here.
Then the person would have a better understanding of the game before he steps foot in a jet/helo. Just a thought. I know I didnt try to fly on a populated server until I had about 30K points, thats when I felt that practicing on an empty server was enough, I felt I wasnt (and still not) good enough and I wanted to leave the flying up to the people that COULD.

Plus it might alleviate SOME of the TK'ing for aircraft.

Many of the artards who TK for aircraft are the high ranking players who feel that they are entitled to their own personal jet or attack helo. I haven't even seen anyone under 1SG redline someone in the chopper. The higher ranks tend to be the ones who dedicate enough time in the vehicle to do that.

in theoy its a good idea, but for myself, it took me almost a year to get to 30,000 points. so it would kinda suck if i was stuck being a ground pounder for that long. maybe if it was a like a 1,000 or 5,000 points.

this game is not real life,the ranks and points are there for fun.

its a arcade game,we dont need to go in to a debate on what realistic in bf2(been there read that)

just enjoy youre game,and dont get frustrated if you cant get the heli/plane even if you think/know you can do better.

everyone has the right to get in the plane skilled or unskilled(its public servers)

if you or anyone still takes being good at flying seriously then maybe get in a good clan as a pilot and play some clan games,

just a thought nothing more.



now if bf2 was a proper realism game then maybe a traning offline mission(similar to america's army)

where you have to pass all training to open up extra parts of the game in multi player.

i would be all for that,but i dont think bf2's arcade style goes with it.

So you say a plane or a chopper should be off limits for low ranks.
How about the other vehicles?
Not everybody is qualified to drive a tank, is it?
How about a jeep? Could a private drive a jeep or not?
He might get in a tree or something… :p

Newbies, yes are usually 80% a poor pilot once it comes to the first time. Practice makes perfect, but where will they gain their skill? I know that singleplayer might help, but bots are sometimes idiots, and Mabye you practice with a friend, but that may be a waste of time. But I say, MOST Higher ranked people tend to "vehicle whore" more than the newbies, because they think since hey have a higher rank, (experience, etc.) They are entitled for the vehicles. If you dont hand their "vehicle" over to them, watch em stand in fromt of it, forcing a TK.

Points do not determine skill. When I fly the attack chopper, I rarely get many kills or points. I get assists for lining my gunner up to use one of the most powerful weapons platforms in the game. I've had my clan mates asking me to partner up with them as the copilot in the bomber and/or pilot/gunner in the chopper since soon after I got this game.

yeah its sortof a good idea, but like when i first played this game...jets was like the absolutely most fun thing to use and i kept playing (the demo) for the jets...infantry combat is old, but like flying jets and shooting infatnry with it was new to me which is why i loved the game so much, and reaching 30k...is a bit mean

Elitist MFs like this piss me off. Its a damn game. Give a newbie a break. Would it kill you to groundpound when you don't get your prescious little helo/plane. I think its always good for a laugh when you hop in as gunner with some guy and he promptly rolls the thing over onto its back.

I said it before and I'll say it again: MULTI-LEVEL LICENSING WITH A PRIORITY SYSTEM.

No matter what your rank, you MUST take it: there are several accomplishment levels and naturally, the higher levels have priority over lower levels to take the helicopter. This will result in higher quality competition and people will train outside of public servers in specially designed levels to increase their skill in order to pass the licenses.

THIS would be the ideal system... no more ******** at that point: if you get an A-level license, you can fly anytime ace...

Umm there are no jeeps in the game. However if you're referring to the Humvees, yes Privates drive Humvees all the time because they are the COs and NCO's b*tches. Gas, break, clutch, sterring wheel, shifter. That's all u need to know driving a humvee.

Actually, the last load of humvees I saw were all automatics, as were the freaking dumptrucks...and most of the deuce-and-a-halfs...as well as...

Dude I am by far NOT an elitist, I dont think Im great in any way except my looks LOL and I know its a game and I for 1 dont have a problem with groundpounding at all.......but when groundpounding I wouldnt mind some air support from someone who knows what the hell they are doin, instead of from some duche bag that takes a J10 and goes out practicing loop de loops over the ocean away from enemy fire

I had this Idea a long time ago. I believe the needed points, for any vehicle, should be about one thousand because thats fair. If this change is to be made you also need to make a new Pilot kit for all the people in air craft. Once in an air craft you are no longer a medic or what ever, you would instantly change over to pilot class. If you bail out you would revert to the medic or what ever class. Thats my thoughts any way. . . . . . . . .Red
