Re: So I've been playing a Sniper a lot lately.
First off. Let me say.
Wow.
I feel important now.

Semantics.
Recoil is a huge factor to me. It makes it difficult to line up a second shot, if you weren't lucky enough to kill the person in one.
The SVD and the Type-88 have no bolt-action animation after each shot, so they literally jump up into the air after every shot, like the L8A61 in single shot mode. It's easy to control, but I hate that more than anything. At least you don't notice this with the Bolt-action rifles (Except the M95), since you normally zoom out automatically.
As it stands, the crosshairs for the SVD are rather annoying to use. It's 'worse than the Ironsights for the M16A2 annoying.' Irregardless of how I line it up, it never ammounts to a headshot, unless I'm around 200m away. For this gun, I ignore all statistics, and simply state, 'this gun is inaccurate, due to the lack of a bar down the middle.'
Most people who use the SVD or the Type-88 just spam shots, while pulling down on their mouse, hoping that the motion of the mouse will offset any recoil. Hence why there are so many people out there who blow their entire clip, without being able to kill a single target.
I personally fire my shots in a paced manner, much like with the L8A61. Since it's semi-automatic, you'll eventually get lucky and hit a target thats trying to escape from your fire. Much like the L8A61, you could be pointing your crosshairs directly at the person's head from a 100m off, and you still won't headshot him. The semi-automatic rifles are a gamble.
I'm sure hes made many good shots over the span of his lifetime. You're going on second-hand experience, while I'm merely basing my information on my own experiences. Pick up a Type-88 and you'll see why I'm not a big fan of it. Then again... you might just use it as a Medium-Range Rifle like the L8A61. In which case, you'll probably fall in love with it, like 90% of the people who play on IO Jalalabad do with the SVD.
The PKM is easier to control.
Prone + 2-3 burst shots > 2-3 rapid fire pistol-style shots while tugging down on the mouse.
Semantics caused by a mistake in my grammar. I know I didn't hint at it, but I meant that a blind shot in CQC would usually lead to the situation that I explained earlier.
Anybody who has ever handled an M24, or an L9A61 for a short period of time, will be able to get the timing of the distance/shot down to memory. In only twenty hours of use, I have very little difficulty hitting moving targets with some marginal degree of success. Of course, I've also been known to lob 20+ shots in a row and only managing to hit a couple body shots for a bunch of crappy Kill Assists. Still, I think my success has to do with the fact that I'm willing to take chances, and am willing to waste bullets for those chances.
I'm not a conventional sniper. I frequently run out of Ammunition due to my trigger-happiness. Thats why I have such a poor Accuracy %.
Stamina bursts make this annoying. Personally, I haven't the patience to wait for 'one' target to slow down. I'd rather just shoot at his buddy who is prone or crouching. Even if I only hit a moving target once out of three shots, I still soften him up enough for an easy/crappy kill assist. (It's still 1 point...) Besides that; you'd be suprised how often you'll get lucky enough for the bullet to go straight through their head.
I mean, hey, you don't know until you try... and try... and try again.
Indeed they are.
The M95 has a strange animation after each shot is fired. It bounces around for me.
Also note that the M95 has a better feel in medium ranged shots. If I know I won't be doing any long-ranged sniping, I have no problems with picking up the M95 and blasting away at medium distance. For long ranged shots, I have yet to be able to steadily headshot people like I would with the M24, or the L9A61. I don't know if this has to do with worse accuracy, or if it has to do with a different feel in the guns.
All I know is, despite being Bolt-action. The M95 has a VERY different feel from the M24 and the L9A61.
This all comes from personal experience. Not a chart.
However, now that I look at a chart... There are very staggering differences in "Deviation in Zoom" stats. Maybe this would explain the very different feel in the guns. (Clicky)
