I don't like getting spawn camped/Base raped so I do everything I can to avoid doing it to others. Treat others as you would like to be treated I suppose.

Wake, the carrier... I have know idea what made the USMC want to come in range of artillery strikes, or J-10s capable of flying near a carrier and living to say so.. BF2 has it's flaws..
Karkand, they are attacking us and in our MEC land so GET OUT! I don't defend much, prefer to attack them and drive the casualties to their line, not in range of our flag and spawn points. In saying that, I find the Hotel to be the most utterly base raped flag in the game. You'd be doing it to me if I wasn't attacking you. Also, I never lie in front of a point, I run around, if you can't shoot me it's your fault, I gave you a chance

I think BF2 will have less baserapers now because BF2142 came out, all noobs are moving there.

As stated this is just a game, I'm not sure what movies you're referring to, as I don't watch TV, but even so - what would that have to do with a game?

Not movies. Those times actually represent the high ticket games.

Also, how often do you see 2000+ ticket rounds; I don't play much BF2 now, but when I did I never once saw games over more than a couple of hundred tickets, even unranked ones.

I dont see them often, they are actually a rarity, but that was all to prove a point. Which you missed.

If you consider yourself a gentleman during play, why is it that you cannot see the point I am putting across? I am trying to argue my own thoughts on base raping, that it is 'noob' and a way to inflate stats through cheap kills, by not giving the other team a chance to fight back.

I actually see your point, but youre like a feminazi. You see, you not only promote your own gameplay type, you enforce it onto others as the one and only viable way to play. Thats simply stupid. Ive been there myself though, so I dont want to sound patronizing or offensive.

The thing is, you can call the baserapists all the names you want, but if they have surrounded you, and you cant breat out, then truly, who is the n00b? You, or them? Matter of fact, baserapists and spawnrapists, hell, exploiters aswell have been in the top of BF2 scoreboard because they have found the fastest and best way to score massive points. The gentlemen stay in the bottom, forgive me the figure of speech.

This is a game where people smack you in the face with a big piece of lumber, its filled with violence and most of all, its a competition and a player vs player environment. The more you limit your gameplay, the less methods you can use against others. This may make your sleep better, but really, if you lose, you can only blame yourself.

Some players simply play the way they want to, and if they want to baserape, who are you to judge them? and you do judge them, which is what I dont like about you.

At the end of the day, I disagree with base raping, regardless of which end I am on:

I dont do it myself, because I am a good enough player to fight back, and once Im airbourne, theres a 99% chance that there will be no baseraping.

If I am on the 'winning team' I'd rather pull back and cover a flag (hopefully catching a sneaky spec ops/sniper) and if I'm on the 'losing' team, sure I'll get frustrated, not only because (in my experience) the team not working together, but because the majority of the opfor are now picking us off like sitting ducks.

VAST majority of my games, if a team loses all flags except for the main, their will to fight is automatically lost. With a 330 ticket game, really, a quick finish ensures that you get to play again with a fresh start in 5-10 minutes. You can go and make a coffee in that time. When you make the opponents sit behind the fence to watch how an army of basedefenders-snipers are shooting at their tanks, the game will last a lot longer.

So really, bite the bitter pill, and pray for a quick end.


I like the "gentlemens" game where the uncap is made a no-attack zone. However, when a team overpowers another severely, these games last for too long and are boring. This is the main reason I dont get mad at baserapists. The faster the game ends, the faster we can start over, and hopefully, have a better game.

Personally, I ALWAYS play on the USMC side, and I try to switch over to the weaker side. I baserape when its the last flag standing AND there are no enemies airbourne (when Im airbourne) or when theres an OpFor squad on the land.

Base raping is a very complex subject as there are soo many different forms of it. For example, on sharqi, whats the difference between the MEC chopper constantly raping the top of the tv station, and the USMC chopper raping the beachouse?
The MEC chopper can rape all day long (including spawn camp) and get away with it all day long, you go near the beachouse etc.. and your kicked before you even fire off a shot. Wheres the justice in that?

My philosphy? play to win, no matter what...treat the enemy as the enemy! (on the battlefield obviously)

I don't mind base raping during mid game, but when all the flags are capped and the base is the ONLY place to spawn then that is when the MORON admins allow it.....very dumb if you ask me! I think it should be allowed at all times just like in real war.....
I will tell you why it is not allowed, it is because server owners and admins are always jet pilots and they don't want to get shot while standing in the LONG line waiting for a jet to respawn.

I wouldn't consider anyone facing overwhelming odds a 'n00b', for being unable to break out and go cap a flag, unless they were doing something to really hurt the team - i.e. not using the tank/TOW/whatever to take out armor.

Fact of the matter is, that you could be the best player of all time, but you have no chance against a wall of enemy troops surrounding you, simply intent on keeping you pinned/pummelling you.

Like me or not, I put my opinion over on a public forum, granted you have my number on how I may be limiting my gameplay, but I do it through a sense of sportsmanship - and to this day I have never bunny hopped (used as an example).

If the rules state that uncaps aren't to be attacked, hell yes, if not; well then I would simply hope the other team (or at least enough) have the desire to keep the game going and move back to defend.

Yes, maybe I'm hung-up on some non-existent code of honour within the game, and maybe that is too much to ask of players, especially in public servers (i.e. no team/clan play). But I would hope that there are enough mature people, or even those with a bit or sporting desire, to realise that the other team stand no chance of fighting back, so "hey lets move back for a while".

ROFL you ARE joking right? clans do ANYTHING to win no matter the cost its a well known fact, even the clans themselves will admit they will do anything to win a top ladder match. That includes bunny hopping base/spawn rape etc, ok so hacking is a no no but all the other things you can do legitimatly ingame that ppl whine about will be practiced by a clan during a match i guarantee it.

BTW just to add..., a good example? maybe not, but have you checked out any of those screenies that were released when BF2 was about to come out? look at them and you will see that UCB baserape (although not everyone likes it) was meant to be LOL.

Myself, I attack main bases if there are no other flags to attack, I get so bored waiting for people to come out, im an actionholic. I also dont care when I am being base camped because it is just another challenge to prove skill level to see if you can make it out alive. My opinions on spawn camping are so-so, if someone spawns right infront of me I will shoot him sometimes while moving around you will come across spawns and I will do anything to not die, it can sometimes be slighty annoying, but thats it.

I am in a clan and it is true that we will do just about anything to win except cheat (well there are always a few cheaters) but we try hard to be sportsmanly about it. Baserape is allowed because thats a way you can win rounds by eliminating all of the other teams tickets before they can counter attack. All clans I play with and against know its part of the game and thats on way to win for your team.

i think baseraping is fine. in a real war you cant say "your not allowed to attack our base" the point of the game is to kill the enemy. why do you have tows and AA in the main base? use them. base rape is fine

spawncampers are the worst. it is very furstrating to die when you spawn into a game and get shot in the back before your computer catches up and allows you to move.
all spawncampers should line up and spawncamp a spawncamper

Scort, my views have changed a few times since I started playing BF2. I used to be an avid baserapist, then I got very good at jets and stopped raping the grounded air vehicles because I "matured" in the sense of BF2 gaming. After I adjusted to the game I became a gentleman and played the game as if it was sports. I viewed any and all odd gameplay bending (bunnyhopping, but especially n00btubing) as an act of desperation for win. After playing with older, mature guys, we had a talk about the subject and I was enlightened to the ultimate, most concrete basics of the game- do whatever you can to survive.

You see, the game is all about winners and losers. If you give up in certain aspects, you open yourself to a chance of becoming a loser. In that case, you have no right to complain when youre being raped.

So basically, I DISLIKE baseraping and all that dumbfvck jazz, but I dont really get annoyed by it either and I wont complain about it.

In this game, you play to win. You play for your own personal fun aswell, but there are losers and winners, and some people dont really enjoy being the losers.

I don't play 2142 so it is hard for me to judge for myself, but when I tell a friend of mine I had a few good rounds he say it is because everybody went to 2142 that there are only noobs left in BF2 lol

Seriously though, I think the dudes GETTING base raped are the n00bs, & that it is their fault for

1. picking the wrong kit for the task @ hand (such as sniper in armor)
2. not trying to take flags
3. not forming squads
4. not using teamwork
5. playing defense instead of attacking
6. not trying different stategies
7. not having a plan
8. too many snipers
9. not filling in the gaps where you are needed when you are the closest when you should
10. not using voip
11. no 1 going commander
12. not enough medics
13. not switching to AT when tanks are spawncamping
14. etc, etc, etc.......................................

Adapt, & evolve, set traps for baserapers, ppl are creatures of habit, learn their pattern, & use it against them

Here is an original idea, DEFEND your spawn points (pretty hard to do when you are on rooftop w/ an M95 lol)

Trust me, I have been base raped plenty, but I don't get mad @ the enemy, they are just doing their job, but I do get hella' piss'd @ some of my team m8's that aren't helping

It is all the n00bs choices that lead up to the baseraping that makes players n00bs
