base raping: noob ?

i just started playing bf2 one of the first things i noticed was that on every server i played base raped ( not that i have a problem with it cause i do it myself) but i was just wondering why everyone here is so against it when it goes on all the time.it seems to me that people should just deal with it. maybe i'm not playing on the right servers?

Most of the people that complain are noobs, and likely they do baserape themselves when they have a chance.

I don't base rape myself for the most part... just my personal gaming ethics, but I also don't complain about it as it is a part of every game that has been played.

BF2 has a form of base raping built into it with commander assets needing to be destroyed so to complain about it is a mute point.

I really, really try to avoid baseraping. I think it is spawncamping that is the uglier of the two. Base Raping is fine in my book if the enemy has lost all of their flags. It might be ok if Armor is sitting outside, camping the base as his team moves in, but beyond that, no, armor should avoid it if possible.

But again, it does happen, and there is a lot of grey-area involved.

Spawn Camping (i.e. sitting behind a spawn point and killing everyone at the instant they spawn) is cheating, and IMHO is worth a kick/ban.

Base Raping (bombing airfields/helipads, vehicles, IGLS'a, etc.) is tactical, but doesn't make for fun play. I think it is fine when the majority of flags are taken, and your only squabbling over one or two sites, but early game raping to gain an undeserved advantage is cheap.

I ownd with my ak-47 on umsc carrier (fuess pass)
on 64 player server.

and they still complain about base raping but it was 32vs1 wtf noob admin.
not my fault that I landend there.

LOL, in a situation where you had to get all the way over to a Carrier, I think that is all fine and dandy. You'll run out of ammo there at some point anyways.

entering the enemy base (UNCAP) is fine with KIT weapons only. anything done to a uncap with a VEHICLE is not acceptable. i dont get it when ppl say its ok to bomb the carrier/airfield (UNCAPS) when there are no other flags left.. err if u think so u clearly dont have a sound understanding of gaming ethics, the uncap is for a reason, if all ur flags are capped then the uncap is for ur team to spawn and try to get back into the fight and take another flag if possible. chopper returning for repairs at the carrier, fine kill it, but not while the chopper hasnt lifted off the ground or the jet getting upto speed still on the carrier or runway is a no go zone IMO. also you will find that all of the clan server with proper rules will kick/ban u if u uncap rape with vehicles. but if u take a whole squad with a transport chopper and para down, and thus getting kills with KIT weapons: that is tolerated.

simply put, its part of the game, and untill EA/Dice fix the ground to air balance/aa in general and add some sort of intelligent/information based spawn system, it will remain part of the game. the fact that the roe permits admins to make such rules goes against the core of what makes a battlefield game what it is. the inhouse rules section of the roe is basically saying "we are too lazy or incompetent to actually fix this game, so were gonna make rules instead".

i pay attention to server rules, and follow them for the most part, but i still think its wrong that admins can make such lame rules and that ea/dice wont just fix the game!

What ticks me off the most is the fact that, lets say for example Dragon Valley, you cannot attack the carrier, you cannot attack helis/planes on the carrier, yet they come to our "airfield" and make sure we dont get into helis/planes. Again this depends on server im playing in, but most enforce that rule.

My solution is either no base raping either one, not just "Thee carrier" or

Soluion #2, both teams are allowed to rape each others bases.

You are either pregnant, or you're not.

Spawn camping is a no-no. But base raping is perfectly fine in my book :p! I love to take out all those jet-whore n00bs with my trusty sniper rifle!
