Most of the people that complain are noobs, and likely they do baserape themselves when they have a chance.

You made a very good point something I agree with. Like all I was new enjoyed spawn killing to gain some points. I know its bad way of gaining points and it has happen to me as well. But, we all have done this even on Karkand in a tank or apc near the hotel.

Base raping is for twits that care nothing about the game and only about their stats.

1. There is basically zero skill in raping the uncapturable base.
2. The games objectives are to capture and defend FLAGS !

I love the guys that are base camping when their team has 1 or zero flags. If you cap a team out then you should be defending flags. Trying to keep the game fun is what it's all about and the only thing that keeps people playing. If it gets to the point that you can't even spawn then what fun is that really ?
All my favorite servers are the ones that usually have an admin on and that DON"T allow the uncapturable base to be attacked.

I see it like this...

It's a game. If you can do something in the game thats not a glitch or a exploit then you can do it, such as spawn kill. Some kills are easy some kills are hard. Reagardless a kill is a kill and it helps you and your team get points.

Another point I may add...killing is fun. When a easy one comes along cause some dude happens to spawn in front of me, so be it he's one dead MF'r.

Some folks believe it's not ethical or a fair way to play. I do not agree on both accounts. Why? Take the map Karkand for instance:

-Karkand has 3 uncappable spawn points. If MEC is spawn Camping one area you have 2 other areas to spawn at. MEC cannot possibly trap you at all 3 unless you and your team are the worst players in the world.

-There is an Enemy asset for MEC to attack at each of the 3 uncappable spawn locations giving Mec the right to move there and attack there. This includes having the right to kill you spawning or not.

-Even if Karkand only had one central uncappable spawn and all of MEC trapped the US team there you: 1) Deserve to get spawn-raped 2) All of MEC's enemy assets would be there so again, they have a right to attack there 3) man up FFS's and fight as a team out of it.

-At least one side or the other has a uncappable base and can always "choose" or "NOT choose" tp spawn. If you get spawn killed, so what! The other team gets capped out if they lose all thier flags.

when it comes to baseraping i dont mind if it is just infantry but armor and tanks can adn does get very frustrating. i dont do it even if given the oppurtunity. one of the few moral standards i actually hold up to. :p

i just started playing bf2 one of the first things i noticed was that on every server i played base raped ( not that i have a problem with it cause i do it myself) but i was just wondering why everyone here is so against it when it goes on all the time.it seems to me that people should just deal with it. maybe i'm not playing on the right servers?

The only attack on the uncaps with allow is infantry only. No armor or jets whatsoever. Well you can also use the jeeps but that's about it. And we have over 70 admins so the server is always being manage.

Since BF2 have squads...you can spawn at your squad leader!
A) its harder to spawn camp
B) Its harder to basecamp

All those server rules are made for lone wolfs??? (the so called noobs)

Teamwork and the chance you get camped is small

i think raping uncaps is fine.....i like sneaking into uncaps and stealing their attack heli, and i will kill ANYONE who tries to stop me (duh)

i also like being base raped....i think its great when all the action is right where i spawn.....no need to waste precious time driving about and looking for some action.....

spawnkilling is for douche bagg nub scum....

no raping uncaps rule is bogus i think, like in maps like sharqi....where USMC heli spawn gets raped constantly, and never gets to take off......while mec heli spawn is untouched and can take off anytime.....how is that even remotely fair in any way whatsoever?

i dont think there should be any safe-havens.....especially for only one team.....i think its an idiots rule....for stupid no-skill nubs who want to have a tea-party in their safe haven instead of fighting

If the USMC team is smart enought they can keep the MEC helo busy and occupied, and even steal. Yes Sharki is a one sided of balance map, but with a good team anything is possible.

What ticks me off the most is the fact that, lets say for example Dragon Valley, you cannot attack the carrier, you cannot attack helis/planes on the carrier, yet they come to our "airfield" and make sure we dont get into helis/planes. Again this depends on server im playing in, but most enforce that rule.

My solution is either no base raping either one, not just "Thee carrier" or

Soluion #2, both teams are allowed to rape each others bases.

You are either pregnant, or you're not.

Well, the difference is that there are multiple flags available to spawn on...where as the carrier only has two spawn points on it.

Base raping is for idiots who like getting cheap kills, nothing more.

Think about it with more than one brain cell for a minute - when you respawn, there's a good chance you may take a second or two to get your bearings, equip the correct weapon (i.e. C4 for tanks), move into a safe location or all three (and possible numerous others).

If the entire opposing force are hanging around your last spawn/mainbase/whatever, what chance do you stand to fight back?

Personally I hate baserapers, basecampers I can deal with - I would use that term for maybe a lone sniper skirting around the edge of your base, and taking shots, or a spec op taking stuff out.

Anyone defending the 'tactic' of baseraping is no better than a bunny hopper - gaming scum.

I'm only against base-raping the enemy base when it allows them to sneak behind our enemy lines and cap flags by themselves. Biggest pet peeve in the game ever: A single enemy capping 3 of our undefended flags because everyone was busy pummeling an uncap...

If you've overcome the enemy and fought them back to their main then IMHO you've earned the right to base rape them, regardless of whether the flag is cappable or not.

However being baseraped at the airfield by ace pilots such that your team just cannot get into the air just completely ruins some rounds. The AA at airfields should be better to prevent this. I've seen USMC pilots on Oman spend the whole round raping the MEC airfield as flag after flag was lost. Even when only the carrier was left they didn't change their pattern, a big figure 8 between the MEC airfield and the carrier. Sure they got a good kdr and good points, but their team lost.

Spawn camping on the other hand is just lame.
