I use weapons in BF2 because of the looks, not how they work.

I can't do that, they all look the same to me just different shapes because of my low graphic settings

Yes G36E is a noobs gun. Fighting off entire armies using it is annoying if nothing else, because it has almost NO recoil.

Whoever does the weapons for BF2 needs to be fired, and someone with a brain given his job.
Which version of the M16 is full auto? The M16A2 is the only model I've seen used by U.S. forces in the past 10 years. The Israelies have M16A1s. Those are full auto. The A2 is semi or burst.
There are a few reasons the M16 went from auto to burst. Conservation of ammo and accuracy are big ones. It was determined that after the first 3 shots of a spray the rounds just weren't hitting targets. The M249 was designed to replace the M16A1 in a squad automatic weapon role. That's why it's called the SAW. Many people think that the 249 replaced the M60. Nope. The M240 series weapons have pretty much replaced the 60. 7.62, full auto, heavier weapons. I still see 60s laying around service support and combat service support units, though.

EDIT: I love how one of the only weapons in this game that isn't **** upon by the "random cone of fire" is a n00b gun. In almost any other game it would be normal. The other weapons are crippled so much that one that isn't is considered by some to be unfair. I like using the G36e because it rewards superior aim with kills. I can't count how many times I've gotten the drop on someone while using any of the other medic guns, lined up my shot, BOOM-HEADShhh... Dammit. Went off to the right because of a random ****ing roll of the DICE. An unlucky person in this game could be a very skilled infantry troop and still get purple hearts every round with most of the guns in this game. All it takes is some bad luck and having point-blank shots go wide while the other guy just sprays and a round hits the first guy in the head. That's why I don't play cards or dice. Random luck is too much of a factor. And that is one of my major gripes about this game. Random, stupid luck.
I have also hit more mid-long range shots with the AK-101 than the L85 OR the G36e. My random luck in out-sniping snipers HAD to have pissed them off.

I like the 36e, but I'm not wild about it. But when it comes with those medic bags and the defibs it's a pretty good combo for points.

i play AT a lot but medic/assualt about the same.

I dont use unlocks expect the P90. I can take a M16 (single shot only!) and pwn anyone.

I love the m16, has to be one of the best guns in the game

              You're an idiot.

The AK-101 is fully automatic rifle with a high-rate of fire and high damage rounds and thus is classified as a "spray n' pray" weapon while the G36E only has single shot and burst and thus classified as a aim and click weapon.

Yes the G36E is accurate but having good accuracy is a double edged sword because an accurate weapon is only useful if your aim is accurate. Also because the G36E only has single/burst you have to control you clicking rate and click for every single round unlike with the AK-101 where you can just hold the button (which is much easier and lets you concentrate more on aiming). I've lost count of the times I've run in to an AK-101/RPK/G3/PKM and they just start spraying at me full auto from range and deviation sends one of the rounds randomly in to my skull for and instant death. I never get those wild luck shots with the G36E because I fire less bullets that are much more accurate.

G36E is the best gun in the hands of a skilled player because if you can aim and control your rate of fire it's very deadly but it's also the worst gun in the hands of a n00b because you can't count on it to give you lucky headshots like all the other fully auto weapons.

You're wrong, friend. First of all, just by the first line of your post.

Secondly, the m16A2 (or A4 variant) is 3 round burst or semi-auto. Not fully auto. These are what is most widely used by the US military, and what is most likely in the game BF2.

Thirdly, I'm not sure where you're getting your info on the Ak101 "in real life." The gun is not officially used by any nation.

AK101 uses the same ammo as an M16 and G36e (5.56 x 45mm NATO), and the AK101 also has single shot (semi-auto). You may of been thinking more of an AK47.

                    Re: G36E - Jesus Christ!

been playing a fair amount of medic as of late, trying to hit 100 hrs for that class...

For MEC, its the AK all the way, I have a love for full auto, and I can put it in single shot and pull up the iron sights if I need to hit something at distance. But coming up on a squad with that gun can be pwnage at times.

For USMC, its usually the G36E, and lately I've been using it more in single shot, its nasty. I tend to assault less and be more supportive, whereas with the AK I'm charging in for the kills and then doing the revives :)

if they're MEC, I'm just happy they aren't using AK

if they're USMC, why would I care, I have the AK

                          Uh?

We aren't talking about real life here.. we're talking about the in game performance of these weapons. The AK101 has a full auto firing mode and the G36E does not. I can't remember the last time I ran in to an AK101 in single shot mode. The AK101 kills any infantry player with a single headshot while the G36E does not. This is not speculation this is fact. The base damage for a G36E round is 32 - 4 shots to kill an unarmored target (2 headshots) while the AK101 base damage is 37 - or 3 shots to kill an unarmored target (1 headshot)

I think mister I have more experience in unranked infantry with quite good players and clanners than you mister. So don't insult me as calling me an idiot.

It's not so hard to aim in this game quite easy actually. I've played countless games like Call of Duty 2 where aim is much more important so don't blaim it on 'random' shots. The reason I think the G36E is a nub gun is because it's overpowered and people know it.

It's three shots which is a burst and you killed someone.. It's the ultimate killer in one to one combat. Which is stupid because you are just clicking on someone and he's dead.

I don't take the G36E because it has the best scope.. etc. etc. it's just the best gun in the game. I take the AK-101 so that I can have a challenge in killing someone.

This thread is amusing. I love the testosterone-laced BS about using the low-end weapons 'to have a challenge' or saying 'I'll pwn anyone with them.'

Why don't you just run around with a pistol or knife then? Want a real challenge? Go around and only kill people with shock paddles...or better yet spear them with the zip line gun.

I get killed by these weapons occasionally...and they're never in the hands of a First Sergeant or Officer I can tell you. Usually it's a private or corporal.

So please, stop with the bravado - you don't get points and promotions by using the base weapons...and we all know your e-peen wouldn't tolerate that.
