"you" as in, my comment refering that the only way a person would know about the ROE is if they came to this site?

I agree, I was being a little general about that, but there are people who don't visit websites because they buy a game.

Take console games for example. Do you buy a console game, say Call of Duty 3 for the 360 and go to their website to check up and what you can and can't do online with xbox live? Just because it's a PC game, people automatically assume that the end-user is as computer saavy as some of us like to think we are. They're not going to browse around the net having a witch hunt.

I don't think I'm asking for much here, Just saying what the previous person showed, having a picture of a popup in-game to notify players.

      No!! It's all a conspiracy!!

It's just like the EA TOS....90% of BF2 players have NEVER read it, they would rather be wondering around in the dark, so they can use the "EA needs to read me a bedtime story about the terms of service, and rules of engagment so i can understand what not to do" card.

Haha. I never once called you a facist, just stated that your comment, to me, sounded like it. I don't like the mob mentality that you seem to posess. There, is that better?

I'm looking for a term that could help all players, and not just the "majority", right?

Not everyone who plays use or visit BF2 related forums though, so even though they may be clearly posted for some, many others still know very little or nothing at all about the ROE. The system is still flawed this way.

I agree that EA should put something like in your pic, but the MAJORITY of people who get reset are Cheaters, and padders.

So please...step down of of your pedestal now...

Well I am glad to see that you can take the constructive critisim and speak to me about this issue.

I understand that you are making the effort with EA, but in the meantime, what do you about the obviously innocent people who fell victim to these rules?

Who are these people...why aren't they here, or over at BFROE posting about an unfair reset, maybe they have complained, but do you have names of someone that has been unfairly reset??

                    Where you unfairly reset?

Umm. Let me try to go a little slower for you. My OP (that's Original Post btw), showed clearly the name of at least one victim that you are seeking: [BGC] Chickydo.

Now I don't know this guy so I'm not defending him because he's a buddy. I saw his story and realized, "you know what, this isn't the first time I've read this here".

Now, I'm not going to dig through the forums to find the other people who have had this happen to them, you can if you'd like though.

Also, if you read the OP, someone else already asked me if i were reset. Sorry, I'm a spelling Nazi sometimes

Why does someone have to have something happen to them in order to form an opinion?

Oh, this is the biggest vice that I have with BF2 (aside from support). There is this assumption that everyone goes to some forum, fansite, or community page. I had a post some place on this forum where I went over to EA's offical BF2 page and there was no link to BF2ROE. None. OK, so if it is on there, the most obvious place, then the whole thing is invalid because that should be FIRST it would need to be.

Second, there is an issue of propragation of the importance of ROE. I needed to book mark all the threads where I saw someone that just arrived, and was asking for some kind of help, only to find out they where doing something against the rules. I would PM them with a warning and direct them to the ROE. They would reply back with a pale faced answer going "WTF, I never heard of this!"

This is sadly so common. And people go on grinning about reporting people with the "Get a rope, lets hang that n****r" additude. It is so sick.

WTF, you guys put so much effort into hosting a website, posting in forums, and patrolling the game servers, but you can't even get EA to put on the message for a week a link to ROE. Is BF2142 going to have a link?

It is sick, you say stats don't mean anything, but you make it your job doing something about not meaning a thing.

We need a level playing field, but these trials without presenting the evidence and thing burning peoples time is wrong. I like the idea of a ROE and support it, but as I have said in countless threads, it is piss-poorly advertised.

It is nice to hear how some people get tagged, because it sounds like a long process of information gathering, but some people seem to get dinged on one fateful day.

Support for BF2 is going away, and maybe now, BFROE needs to go away. Just leave it to PB to keep up their work.

when a player is reported they are tracked for 1-2 weeks, it also takes screen shots and more, you can tell me really that going on those type of servers and the number of server that actually state "you may be reset for playing here" that they dont know about the ROE, after all the game has been out for more than a year..

the reporting system has been ready for 2142 for months

                            Re: ROE? I think not...

IndianScout... True that the ROE links are provided on most every major BF2 "Specific" forums.... but a large percentage of gamers don't visit forums for the same reason most people don't read blogs. They aren't interested in reading other peoples rants. They are simply interested in gaming.

Is it a requirement to read BF2 Specific forums to play BF2? No. Is it a requirement to read the ROE before launching into a BF2 game? No. Is a copy of the ROE provided in a read me file with the install disk? No. Is there a popup provided by EA informing them of the ROE and the importance of reading them before gaming online? No, but they sure have plenty of popup windows for their expansion packs and future game releases.

Is it common to issue a driver's license to an individual without issuing some sort of instruction or testing to ensure they understand the rules of road and varying nuances of driving regulations? No.

The point of the orignial author's post is if the rules are going to be enforced, the gamer needs to be informed that the rules exist. Just having at some unknown URL, or various BF2 Specific Forum sites is not publishing the rules. Until that is done I beleve enforcing the ROE is completely unjustified.

Now as I have said before, I support what the ROE team is trying to accomplish and do not hold any ill-intent towards anyone for that. I just want the ROE to be available to everyone from the get go. I didn't know about it until a 13 months after I bought the game.... when I started trolling around these forums.

I think that is a fair request. Don't you?

Yeah, I have heard you say that before. It sucks, because I like what you guys are really trying to accomplish. But what does that really say about EA, they don't support you. Not that you have failed, but EA has failed. And if EA is not supporting it, then it is not official in my book.
