No other game will ever be able to dethrone Battlefield 1942 - thee best online multiplayer experience I've ever had. Congratulations DICE in the past for making a good game. DICE today, well you have some work, you never did fix that J-10 issue, and you did in the first place create an unstable engine. Probably why I always play infantry style maps, but in anycase, I'm sure you'll do better.:p

Tis indeed a good game, and the problems it has remaining really don't bother me any more, as I have found the light - PoE*

If one thing could have been removed from the start, it would be the ranking system, that (imo) is the biggest problem of BF2!

It's going to be interesting to see what the future holds for the BF series, as I think 2142 is going to flop, not as much as some of us would like (to give EA a clear message), but I still think it'll flop.
I tried the demo and tbh, it was the biggest wast of my time, evem moreso than Pariah

Anyway, back on subject, well done to Dice et al, shame EA are gonna screw your hard work up.

Im glad to see that some people agree with me. That the game isnt what it used to be or could have been. I liked the versions that we had in 2005 better. I believe that many are going to do the same as I am, which is to spend my money on anything but another game made by EA. This hasnt been caused by the revenge factor or something like that. Its just out of disappointment with BF2's current state. Which leaves me feeling very sad, indeed. . . . . . . . .Red

IMO It is going to flop as big as you want it to, Ive spoke to people playing all sorts of different games and spoke in & on different forums and irc channels (not just gaming ones). And only a very small minority like the demo for bf2142 most just plain hate it like me. And I've said nothing to influence what they've said at all what Ive sort of said/wrote was what do you think of bf2142 that's it and they gave me there negative responses.

Ontopic:- To me bf2 is a great game but it could of been legendary it could of been Dices counter strike (as in every other game gets compared to it). However the bad patches bugs and the refusal to fix the j-10 imbalance (dice canada said it was to hard omfg the muppets) have stolen the legendary status for me.

It will be interesting where the BF series is going now that they've introduce monitoring of what ads you view in BF2142 and how long you view them for, maybe in BF3 you'll have to watch 10-20 mintues of ads a month before you are allowed to play on any server the next month, and also knowing that none of the revenue generated will be given back to the community in terms of server subsidising/extra content

Lol, I can see it now, conquest mode wont have flags any more, it'll have billboards instead; the idea being that each side captures them in order to display ads - thus getting kickbacks from the companies and ultimately winning the 'fight'

It has to be said, whilst the game has had its fair share of problems, BF2 is a good game. Has other have said it had the potential to be a great game but due to a number of reasons poor support on account of Dice Canada's mistakes with 1.3 and other patches.

I just wish that Dice Sweden had taken an extra month or two to completely polish BF2 off, implement the features that they had to leave out and sort some of the bugs that were in 1.0.

Congratulations to Dice specifically Dice Sweden and congrats on making it big with the EA take over I just hope that the problems between publisher and developer can be resolved with this deal.

It is a good game, and the physics for the vehicles & aircraft inperticular are something which has never being achieved by any other developer.

But the game could have been better if it did not have as many bugs as it did.
