I tried the demo...

Funny thing was, my settings were set on Medium+ and I had no lag whatsoever! The game ran pretty smooth. But I can't play BF2 on medium settings at all :S

The server browser is pretty good and works well, unlike BF2, slow and unstable.

From the maps I've played, the design is really bad, heavy on eyes, eyes started to hurt from a few mins of playing. Maybe it's something to do with settings, don't know.

I couldn't hit anyone with guns :S

Voices feel/sound like the ones in Special Forces.

All in all, it's rubbish.

One good thing is, the 'tutorial voice' is of a female lol very pleasent.

Oh, and, I tried to join a server and got a message, for the first time I think:

You have been banned from this server..............................

:/ lol? Maybe it was some server that ran/runs BF2 that I was banne from lol

but the new enemy spotted voice is even more anoying

I for one have already pre-ordered it. Let me explain something about the beta.

They screwed us pretty bad on the beta because we were playing an ancient version of it, so that we would work out the tiny bugs that they failed to find. If you really want me to find the article that supported this I will, but im not going to look otherwise. So the beta had plenty of bugs and was fairly annoying. The demo has come a long way, and MY GOD it runs SO much better then bf2. I could barely play medium on bf2,but with 2142 im running high frames on default settings for high. I have to agree I dont like the air vehicles too much, but I do like all the cool squad unlocks, and kit unlocks far more then the bf2 ones. The maps look great and are well designed from the 2 that I've played.

If you are going to say that the game sucks for whatever reason, please at least give some real reasons (as some have, and most havent), then just "it sux and I always knew it!"

way i see it is...
when i 1st playd the BF2 demo on the bros PC.
i was like hey man i gota make my PC play this game.
it was so good i just didnt want to miss out i wanted to be part of it all.
but after playing this demo it has to be said iv been left some what cold.
lots of ppl will say im wrong but then they prob payd for it already .
and to them i say SUCKER enjoy your crapy free rank.
il get that for free in no time .
given the EA updates why would anybody pay for a game before they tryd it .
all smacks of one up man ship to me that or just more money than sense.
good thing about this is the ppl who do like it wont be playing BF2:laugh: :laugh:

Will BF2 live longer than 2142? I doubt it. TONS of people have already pre-ordered it. Most of the stores offering the pre order are pretty much sold out of them where i live.
Also, since BF2142 will have ranks/stats etc of course, people will want to keep playing it just like they did with BF2 regardless of how much is wrong with the game. Many will probobly say forget it to their BF2 stats even know its hard to imagine throwing away all those hours worth of stats, and they will work on getting all those 40 some unlocks 2142 has.

Ill admit, when we first heard about them working on BF2142, I was pissed and I thought it was going to suck becuase it was too early, but I tried the demo and i like it. I am going to buy BF2142. Good for me.

I played for 2 hours solid, and did not like it one bit. The game feels slow as hell and im not one to see Mechs in this game...you want mechs go play mech warrior. EA has ruined the BF series with this garbage. and on top of that BF2 is still new and not even 2 years of age yet.

BF2142 is just BF2 with new skins and thats it.

ya the air vehicles do seen a bit crapy and the walkers well its like that fat kid at scholl all over again.
it runs ok and to some ppl will look better i just dont feel like im going to be part of it.
fewer kits more unlocks dont know how that will pan out .
but in short i just dont see the point of playing it .
with BF2 you have a sense that what i do matters .
but with this your just running round saying hey i just dont care anymore.
i playd 6 games today and was in the top 3 every game still hated it.
but had ppl who came in the bottom 3 telling me its gr8 and "s&it hot"
BTW 6 games top 3 that never happens in BF2 im just not that good :laugh:
id love for EA to prove me wrong but i just dont think thats going to happen some how.

Its ok. The ground game and titan fighting is fun, the aircraft are jokes. But I will get it so I can get a high rank quickly and then sell my account like I did before for some cash.

btw as far as BF2 being on its way i still se lots of call of duty,uo severs out there and how old is that.
its about how good the game is not how old it is.
plus 2 game modes is nothing gr8 .
the one thing that lets BF2 down is its lack of them.

Yea well with the aircraft in this game, right now it looks like i'll easily get more points doing infantry and titan work.

Then again, you get bonuses every 5-10 kill streak when retail comes out, so I'll have to see

i play the demo and i think its ****ing awsome, i really like the titan mode....so yeah im thinking 2142 will last way longer

I played for around 2 hours...... and it did nothing for me...... NOTHING..
A new release demo should HAVE A wow FACTOR.. damn that was good, but NO its just pants (read all other replys if U dont believe ME)
I just played another night on BF2 and...... OMG i really owned some peeps on sharqi and wake (USMC) i might add.... this dude thinks he smart bailing out of jet into a tank...... NO he got a mine at his *** lol
OHHHHHHH and another game on mash..... me and some guy named something like 'rambo' forgot his tag...... well we just owned!!!!!! The 2 of of us ran around killing everyone... it was awsome!!!!
You get me yet???? BF2 is the dogs................ if you think otherwise, go play 2142......... go play, no really go play it.

For me personally, I won't give BF2142 a chance. I love the BF series for their accurate depections of real world material/scenarios. If I wanted to play some gay futuristic feeling game, I'd install Halo.

Im running everything on high in 2142, and it runs perfect! I like 2142, its a good game, im just not a fan of futuristic stuff cause im an old fashion type of guy. I LOVE the freakin battlewalkers! Those things are baaaadass. Theres alot of people playing just the demo, and the other maps are pretty good looking. Freakin snow in berlin, how cool is that gonna be.
