BF2 will live longer than 2142?

I have played the 2142 demo and IMO it suxs.....
I for one think BF2 servers will still be running strong, long after 2142 servers have been forgot about!
Please post your thoughts and explain why BF2 is a far superior game?
If you disagree and think 2142 is better then explain why, your posts are more than welcome :)

I havt tried 2142 nor will I. I know it will suck afterall it is made by DICE. Congrats to EA on giving DICE canada the boot. no more crap patchs. I do think BF2 will live longer

2142 BETA 1 was so fun.. and addicting... better than BF2 sometimes..


After BETA 2, they ****ed up big time, and I won't be buying 2142.

Ill get 2142 when they release the 3rd patch for it, till then Im more than happy with BF2 and SF.

Not to mention (as others have noted) the Beta2 version of 2142 was a joke and if thats what we can expect, then why bother?

I played the demo for a couple of hours last night and was astounded....at how bad it was.

I've been a 2142 sceptic from the moment it was announced and the ideas of many of the changes have sounded bad or uninportant to me. Still even though i had no major interest in it I always assumed that it would be fun... after all they only need to keep it similar to bf2 and it will be fun (it might not be revolutionary it might not be the greatest thing since toast but it WILL BE FUN) annd basically it's just not.

I'll start with the aerial vehicles as theyre possibly the biggest disapoint and enormous step back from air vehicles of bf2. These things are awful in every sense of the word they feel stupid they look stupid theyre BAAAAD. My major gripe isnt with their firepower of ability to deal out damage its HOW INCREDIBLY EASY THEY ARE. Planes and Choppers in bf2 had a good long learning curve in 2142 u have to be and idiot to crash and if you've flown for 10 minutes...congrats your as good as someone who's flown for hours (NOOOO SKILLLL).

Infantry we'll the problems here are'nt as obvious and there are some improvements but more failures. Scope wobble is a nice adition to gameplay and something that should have been in 2. Besides that..... i hate basically everything all the guns feel the same, all the guns look the same, no more mastery of ones favorite weapon i cant tell the difference between any of these things theyre all just spray and pray now.

The hud it's more confusing and less attractive than the hud from bf2... never had a problem figuring out what everything on the bf2 hud meant it was all very intuitive this one is just odd lots of flashing lights i can go on but i'm bored.

I tried the demo...

Funny thing was, my settings were set on Medium+ and I had no lag whatsoever! The game ran pretty smooth. But I can't play BF2 on medium settings at all :S

The server browser is pretty good and works well, unlike BF2, slow and unstable.

From the maps I've played, the design is really bad, heavy on eyes, eyes started to hurt from a few mins of playing. Maybe it's something to do with settings, don't know.

I couldn't hit anyone with guns :S

Voices feel/sound like the ones in Special Forces.

All in all, it's rubbish.

One good thing is, the 'tutorial voice' is of a female lol very pleasent.

Oh, and, I tried to join a server and got a message, for the first time I think:

You have been banned from this server..............................

:/ lol? Maybe it was some server that ran/runs BF2 that I was banne from lol
