    XP Home, nothing running in the background other than driver utilities and things like that. Changing the affinity of the BF2 process used to make everything run more smoothly. It doesn't do anything, anymore. The latest chipset and proc drivers were supposed to make allocation of resources across dual cores transparent to the user. I don't see much success there.

      That you had to disable 1 core to play well...

        You do that by assigning affinity to one core or another to the process. That hasn't been helping much lately, though. The latest driver for X2s was supposed to fix that.
