Illusion had it coming. A selfish guy (yes, he's an adult, which is even more pathetic =/) who, along with his fellow admins, got to where they are (in illusion's case, was) by being assholes. I usually don't care about abusive admins but christ this guy was a jerk. However I think he got reset because EA doesn't like "their" stuff being sold (he sold his account).

Another guy would be DJJeffro. A few people said "zomg bring his stats back" until people spoke of what an ******* he was.

But some stupid resets: TeflonSean and kontrolcrimson. Sean's a nice guy, he doesn't strike me as someone who would break the Naz-, err, BFROE. Kontrolcrimson I've never played with but having spoken to him on forums he seems like another innocent case.

Oh well. At the end of the day, it's the BF2RS and BFROE nerds doing the resetting and account investigation that are on the short end of the stick. Seriously, do you people have nothing better to do?
    Just like saying:

Do you cops have nothing better to do?

They are breaking the rules. You break the rules, you get the boot, or in this case, you get the wipe.

I have more points in that catagory than he did (8000+), it comes from being a team player, & ppl wanting to ride w/ you in armor, & other ppl sticking close by you in their armored vehicles, think armored column (in my case for over 400+ hrs.), & they in turn generate team points for your passengers which make driver special abilty points for you

Point being, if he doesn't lose those things why reset him? This account has already accomplished everthing you can (minus a few awards, which dont require 180,000 points). If he shows up in a server does it still show him as a four star? If so then whats the point? Seems as though it would be better to get mid-rank folks who aren't completely accomplished.

If the point is to just knock hime of the top world rankings, well I guess thats fine, but personnally I don't care about that. I am much more interseted in a players awards and rank. I hate saying these high ranking world players, who are still colonel and only have the support or medic badge(with over 2000hrs played).
BF2s, BF2Player, & BF2Tracker may still show the awards you earned, but your ingame rank goes back to private (1-striper), you can take that to the bank

It also includes any kills your gunner gets as a passenger, so in his case he probably flies the heli on Sharqi a lot and his gunner gets a lot of kills, giving him driver points.

One of our clan got his stats reset just because he had a good score in one round.

Now some guy has been reset for having a good accuracy.

Maybe its about time EA told us what the limit is on certain stats and then we can all just act like idiots and never become good.
He got his stats reset for limiting ppl's role in the game, limiting ppl's access to vehicles (roll in the game) is a "hard" violation of the BF2 ROE

Sorry, but when your gunner makes a kill those are "driver kill assists", not "driver special ability points", you get 'driver special ability points' when your passenger earns a team point (repair, heal, revive, resupply)

Sounds like this dude needed to be slapped really, really hard...but I would be damn pissed if someone took my 18 months of playing and cleared my effort. Because my f**king life is full to the brim with things to do and take care of. I am not some 14 year old kid who's only responciblity is making sure he does well in school. I have a house payment, a truck payment, home repairs to perform, cleaning and laundry, shopping, things to plan and take care of. My life is full. So any second of time I can get on the Battlefield is special to me. And when I see little sadistic smilies from people being gleeful about punishing someone else, then I get more than a little annoyed, because, though I don't pad or cheat or hack, the system sounds like some people could get the everything wasted with no recourse for a wrongful wipe. Some of these things are gutless. Sometimes they are worth it, and sometimes the not. Computers give false positives and people lie.

And don't give me that BS about, you don't own your stats, blah, blah. I own my time and life, and this is someplace that I put an investment in. Yeah, someday it will all go away because we will abandon it to some other game on the horizon, but for now, I am happy with what I have. I spent money on this game and then on a system to play it. Most of these kids had mommy and daddy put up the money for a computer.
Thanks for lengthy lesson in false positives, personal time, and truck payments...but I understood your post the first time around - and I still disagree.

Your defense of 'I own my time and life' is probably the dumbest thing I've read on these forums. So BFROE shouldn't punish him because he spent a lot of time doing it?

Sorry chuck, but that's just plain retarded.

Let's say I buy a car and decide that I don’t need to follow the rules of the road. Eventually after repeated offences, I finally get caught and watch in horror as my car gets taken away as well as my license to ever drive one.

Do you think a good court defense would be: "Gee Mr. Judge, I know what I did was wrong and all, but it took a hell of a lot of effort and time to finally break every law. Can I please have my license and car back?”

Moral of story: don’t break the rules if you can’t deal with the punishment.

My over all point was that if you had a car, police don't put you in the electric chair if you run a stop sign here and there. I see only one solution they have to minor and serious offenses, that is to clear someone's entire time.

This person was an complete padder, across the board, so worthy of a wipe. But some kid that happens to tinker around here and there, I don't think they should waste all his time.

With your logic, they should suspend your drivers license for changing lanes without a blinker.

So what you're saying is that only the offence that is directly related to the stat should be reset? Like if the guy went in a P&K server for several rounds he should only have his knife and pistol kills wiped? I think that would severely skew the ranking system somehow.

Not that I totally disagree with you.....I just don't know if it's possible.

                  Thanks for twisting my words.

This conversation is in regards to the OT - which is painfully obvious. We're not talking about some 'kid that happens to tinker around here and there' now are we? In fact, you said it yourself:

Exactly, I think it should be no more than an eye for an eye. If someone is caught padding his k&p stuff, clear all his k&p badges and kills. Also, do something like a %20-%30 reduction in his rank. That is it. Not clear everything that he did legitimately

You get driver special ability points anytime someone your vehicle scores points whether from combat or team points. I have over 11000 vehicle points and I 100%positive it wasn't from just team points. Most are from being a chopper/plane pilot and tank driver getting the kill assists.

According to BF2S wiki: "Driver special ability = 1 point. Note: You receive these points while driving or piloting and someone that is in the vehicle with you receives combat or team points.:

The idea of wiping the stats that were padded is a good idea. If some dude pads for his repair badge, wipe the badge. No need to delete everything.

Also, everyone saying they're like cops and such need to get a grip. Comparing some power-hungry nerds on a computer game to real authority figures who (usually) help their community is like comparing a kid who steps on ants to Adolf Hitler. Same with people comparing padding for a JPEG (well they're actually DDS files) on a webpage to plagiarising a thesis paper for their final year of Medical school.
