He snipes people on the island from the US carrier on wake, and in Sharqi he fires 900+ yards from the far corner of the map to the crane and gets the kill.

OK, I'll give him props for figuring all of that out. But you have to admit that what they're doing is a little different than just having "someone spot the enemy with the attack sword icon".

These guys are a long range sniping expert team. The odds of this happening in a typical game - even on a clan server - are pretty rare.

Hell, I bet I could go onto a server and tell every sniper that I will be spotting long range shots for them and no one would even pay attention or much less know what to do.

Not to mention, a good sniper would just shoot the spotter or at the least move frequently.

That's nice and all, but what's the point? If you have a spotter near the target, just have the spotter kill him instead of taking a guess using the sword. The only real purpose of this, that I can think of, is for show. I guess if the spotter did take a shot, then he would be more likely to be found, but still, I don't think it justifies the method. When you're using a spotter, you have two people taking the same amount of kills that one sniper could do. In the bigger schemes of things, this method doesn't seem very practical.

agreed. it might be fun to play around with a few times, but pretty much a waste of time imo.

snipers can be very effective used in small amounts. one player can pin down everyone at a spawn. thus distracting the entire enemy force to one player so others can cap flags or w.e.

They're also good for doing the reverse. You can defend a flag from practically the whole other team it you have good aim and steady hands. I don't usually do this myself though. Most of the time I'm a sniper, I only hunt for other snipers.

my biggest role is acting as a counter sniper in a squad. i usually get alot of kills that way.
