You might be able to stop a "lone wolf" trying to cap, but no amount of snipers on defense can stop even a small squad of medics capping flags.

I'm sorry but they can't.

Your claymores don’t gib therefore it's simply a matter of sending in (and reviving) a "meat shield" to remove them.

And no matter how well your aim is or how good of a position you have, they will simply be able to heal and revive each other much faster than you can kill/injure them.

Like I said, if you enjoy playing sniper it's all good, have fun.
But as far as helping your team along, it's the most worthless kit in the game.

If some herd of medics are capping the flag, I'll stay low and spot those for my team. Point the direction where they are going and when they leave the flag, I'll lay my clymores and cap it back again.

Let the medics run, thats what they are good for.

To be honest, in public servers u don't see too often real teamwork, so most of the time behind the hottest battle, there are only lone wolfs or few buddies trying to hit enemy rear. I can handle those pretty easy if they are on foot. My favourite tactics is to place my arse such location that I can help my team to defend some position (hot action) and at the same time guard some other flag. I have gained about 8000 kills with my sniper rifle in 200 hours. That makes a kill about every 1,5 minutes. It's not boring and I really help my team no matter what u say

One funny thing about those flag cappers. How many times have I killes 3 medis or whatever, when they are driving with the buggy. They stop near the flag, one jumps out. I pop the driver, causing random fire from the fellow behind the hardware. He is second. U can't revive those inside the car. The one left alive seeks cover and starts to figure out where I am. As soon as he stops he is dead.

Now, I could give u tenths of different examples how sniper operates to help his team. I'll crystalize my point like this. When u don't have spray gun u really must think more and faster than those rushing with heavy weaponry. It's a diffent ballgame but the goal is same.

I usually play sniper when I'm not in a mood for fast combat situations and am feeling a bit lazy.
Then I usually don't join any squads and just sit patiently as the others groundpound their a..es off.
However this lazyness has often left me behind enemy lines (Wake for example) to go and try to get back the flag, sometimes successfully sometimes not.

ok, peoplekillingmachine, the stats for the m95 on that site is wrong. trust me. all the bolt action rifles do the same amount of damage to un armord soldiers. armored soldiers with the m95 it takes out 95 damage as well. the other two bolt action takes 65% dmaage of armored soldirs. WITH ANY BOLT-ACTION SNIPER RIFLE, YOU TAKE OUT 95% DAMAGE TO UNNARMORED PEOPLE. AFTER YOU SHOOT HIM ONCE IN THE CHEST OR ANYOTHER PART OF THE BODY BESIDES THE HEAD, YOU CAN FINISH HIM OFF WITH THEE PISTOL REAL QUICK.

We're annoying, and we can frustrate and confuse the other team quite well. If you've ever had a entire artillery barrage dropped on your head, or have had a squad hunt you down, then you know the feeling of having enough of an impact to divert people and resources away from flag capping. We can lure squads into Claymore traps, and lead angry enemy soldiers through wild goose chases with our long sprint speed, and ability to hide in vegetation.

We're also invaluable to our team for our precision when it comes to taking out people in protected positions. I've taken out an entire squad of troops who were using Vodniks on Mashtuur City above Backyard to rain bullets down on that spawn point. Noone else could get the kill with their guns, because of the protection of the Vodniks' turrets, but one Sniper was able to kill both gunners, then kill their replacements, and free up 20 other people to move on to another flag.

Oh yeah, and we're always watching. We move about the map to support you, but you'll prolly never see us, or notice that we picked off that Anti-Tank gunner aiming at the back of your Humvee while you were firing in the other direction. Anti-tank on a high ridge picking off your APCs and Armor above their turret range? We can deal with that. Support class high on a building, protecting that spawn point? We can deal with that, too.

Capping flags is what is important, to sitting on a roof with a claymore at the top of the ladder getting 5 kills a round. Get off the roof and do something for your team fools.

i can't even remember the last time i only had 5 kills as a sniper. while you're out running around losing tickets for our team i'm dropping a minimum of around 15 people with maybe 2 deaths. let the medic come over to revive, i have some rounds for him too. i save your *** by shooting/spotting the guy thats sneaking up on you, and i jump off my nice safe roof to cap flags when the battle moves to another part of the map, so keep calling me worthless, i do more than you think.

Snipers are great for the team, I can stop 20 people from trying to cross a certain part of the map how many support people can say that?
