I am noticing that there are fewer cheaters since school started again. A few months ago I could spot 5-6 cheaters in any full server.

Hoping for fewer still when 2142 comes out.

I think the worst part about playing against them is when they are in the air, you just don't stand a chance. On the ground its a challenge but if I see 3 or more in a round, or when I see the new upgraded cheats like teamswitch and spawn anywhere, I just move on to another server.

24/7 Karkand servers are a magnet for them. Don't play 24/7 Karkand unless you want to practice spotting them. Just use spectate mode "C" and you will see wallhax, healthhax, and aimbots galore.

I'm not saying people aren't "exploiting" the game, in other words, finding the little "flaws" in there. I see plenty of that, but no big deal to me, I really don't care. What I'm saying is actual hacking like aimbots, etc.

I have seen many people who cheat, however more and more I see lower ranked players say people are cheating. I have been yelled at for cheating, which I never have, just because I tend to kill the less skilled players more than they kill me. Some people just don't notice that alot of us have been playing for over a year now. Thats a crap load of practice compared to someone who only has a few months under thier belt.

So yes, some people cheat, I know of people that do. I have been offered cheat programs, I have never used them and will never use them. I would rather use skill vs skill.

If you see someone that is cheating badly, do what I do, GO TO ANOTHER FREAKING SERVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you cant tell if the other team has a commnader or not.

Actually its pretty easy to tell, any time they kill someone it's in yellow lettering, or look for artty, crates, vehicle drops that your team didnt drop. Have your commander do a scan and look for someone in a remote place. Also if a commder is just hideing, killing no one and only giving spots to thier team, look for a player on the other team with points but no kills or team points. U can always tell if the other team has a commander. :)

Alright, people are cheating on a online game ooohhh noooo. This has never happened before! What shall we do?!? I can't name a single online game that isn't hacked.

No offense, but that is not anywhere near being an accurate statement. I play quite a bit and the ONLY cheaters I have ever seen are the guys who go nuts with the car and supply drops.

If someone headshots you, he was probably just better than you. If someone came around the corner with their gun blazing and nailed you, they probably had a commander spot or a UAV, not a wallhack. People like to think to themselves "oh man, I can't believe he got me, there's no way cuz I'm so amazing, he must be cheating" or "he's got 20 kills and 1 death" he must be cheating, etc etc <Insert another contrived example here>.

These kinds of people find themselves getting removed from our server if they can't stop whining. It's always the same people who cry "haxor" everytime they get killed and although they rarely say it to me (I'm not nearly 1337 enough for that) it's still childish and annoying.

Unless you have concrete proof that they were cheating, they weren't cheating....innocent until proven guilty.

BTW, did you ever get 1.4 installed? If not, have you tried doing a CHKDSK/R, or did you wind up re-building your PC?

I don't know if your statement is entirely accurate either. A person using the right hacks has the following advantages: ESP, Distance markers, Vehical markers, can see through walls, can see enemy player's names, can drop unlimited supply boxes, and have an aimbot. Also, the latest hacks let you get in enemy vehicles that ENEMIES ARE DRIVING, and use the guns to kill enemies. With all these abilities, a hacker can run around corners and get you cuz he knows you are coming, or will be there. He can wait at the bottom of a hill, then when you pop over he can kill you. The hacker can also know WHERE NOT TO GO, to cap flags and do things most people could only make an educated guess. Most hackers aren't DUMB enough to drop 40 humvee's or supply boxes. It gives thier identity away. Most of the hackers will use thier advantage just enough to give them decent scores, but not own the game.

Its even easier to tell if there is no enemy commander. Just look at the enemies artillery. If its laying down, there is no commander. If the artillery is in vertical position, its armed and there is a commander. On the map I mentioned, the artillery was laying down. Even if there was an enemy commander using SCANS, that would not explain getting killed 30 seconds apart at different bases from J10 machine guns while on foot. There's only one explanation for that.

I allways think back to what happened on warlord one time . It was the end of a game and our comander puts up a UAV to spot the last player . So im driving down the street in a tank and all of a sudden over vent i hear my buddy and his clan member yell HAXXXXXXX. I look on my mini map and see a bunch of guys die around this one last enemy . So im like ya right you guys just couldnt kill him thats all .

So im like screw it and i drive my tank over to finish this guy off. I get to the wall where this guy is and he runs past my tank so i just watch him cuz im in no hurry . I see 5 of my guys run after this guy shooting and no one can seem to kill him . So im liek WTF and i shoot at this guy with my tank and nothing happens , So im like ya right and i shoot again and he keeps running with 5 guys after him ???

Finally he stops and types ingame saying "I dont Hax maybe im that good " finally he turns off what eveer he is using or the bug stops and he gets run over ????

I dont know what happened with this guy but it was the weirdest thing ive ever seen . I mean nothing could kill this guy ????

The hacks I know about don't make you invulnerable, or don't give you extra hit points, or make you harder to kill. Maybe there are hacks out there that do that.....I wouldn't be surprised.

Played last night on a reputable 64 server, twas 2AM with some *** getting 215 points, next player was 100 odd.

I see this is as odd seeing as though I was playing with the some of the most hardcore BF2 players.

No one said a word, best left that way!

I'm not saying there are no hacks, but I am saying that just b/c someone nails you as you come over a hill it doesn't mean anything. My general statement was that people cry "hacks" without giving it a second thought. To say cheating is at epidemic proportions is an extreme exaggeration....CS/S has cheating at epidemic proportions.

As for the commander hack, it takes about a second for them to hit a macro and spam supply and vehicle drops and there is no way to tell who it is that I'm aware of. So you're not going to find someone sitting down doing nothing. You have to watch every single player on the team at the exact instant the car/supply drop happens and look for someone facing the general direction of where it is happening who doesn't move for a second or two....in other words you won't figure out who it is.

I get called a hacker from time to time. It makes me so proud that someone is getting owned so badly that they think I'm hacking.

In the entire time I've played BF2, I've suspected a grand total of TWO people of hacking.

Same here. The only hacks I've encountered for sure, are people using the commander hacks, which are more annoying than anything else.
There have been many occasions where I've been lying prone, someone has ran at me, I've fired first, they've dropped and took me out instantly, but I put that down to them being better than me/lag/dodgy netcode etc.
I firmly believe people using hacks are few and far between, an insignificant proportion of BF2 players and I've never had cause to call another player a hacker. Other players are less conservative and have called me a hacker, which I find amusing. Especially the other week, whilst in an F35b;

Su34 Pilot: "You must be hacking, how can you shoot me down with no missile warning tone, BS!"
Me: "Yes, I'm using the 'cannon only hack' :-/"
Su34 Pilot (after being shot down a couple more times): "Either you're hacking or I should give up"
Me: "Give up..."

Remember if players need to use a hack to gain an advantage, then they're weak and feeble minded people and you've already won. Similarly, if you keep getting owned, and decide someone else is a hacker, you probably need to reevaluate your skill/tactics/hobby.
