I guess everyone on this forum still plays BF2. Why would you still be on a BF2 Forum anyway if you don't play it anymore. Well that said I would also like to add 'I still play it' Maybe.. When 2142 comes out some people will come and play BF2? As an alternative. Since 2142 is completely Sci-F'ed and a very strange game though there are some things I like but most not.

Well I hope BF2 will be the same as CS 1.6 which is still a very much played game

If you're not having fun with BF2 then simply stop playing the game and go away because you have no business mucking up this sub-forum.

BF2 has run just fine from demo to the 1.4 patch (bug wise) and *shock* I am still having oodles of fun playing it and enjoying the various gameplay aspects the game has to offer. If anything my BF2 experience has gotten better as the average player skill has risen to provide me with a more challenging experience. Of course I mix it up and play other games but BF2 is still the largest part of my gaming diet.

Calling a game dying or dead is pure retardation. Even obscure multiplayer games I played that are 10+ years old have a healthy community of populated servers that I can join on a whim. For example one of my old favorites Subpsace http://www.subspacedownloads.com/ is 10+ year old multiplayer game and still has many thousands of active players and a wide selection of servers offering various gameplay modes. Oddly enough these fewer Subspace servers offer the same service to me that thousands of BF2 servers provide. It's pretty much impossible for a game to "die" nowadays. It can become less popular as long as you can find a server it's anything but dead.

Yeah, I actually have been playing Subspace forever, now continuum(sp). I was just sayin that BF2 for ME has kind of lost it's flare, and I was hoping I would get it back.

I haven't played it in about 2 months now. I did play it once 2 nights ago for about an hour, but that was part of that Xfire competition where you have the chance to play 8 v 8 with Warchild. I did and that was a really good game.

I just got tired of the smacktards who are in most servers. Tk for Jet, Tk for a laugh, Tk for Chopper, Put C4 on my Tank. Tk me because ''i was in their Sniper posistion'' ram buggys into my Tank for no reason.

Damn I go into a game and just play normal not causing anyone harm then all of a sudden you get all these smacktards tking each other and me and others end up getting caught up in it. BF2 is a good game and its no doubt far from dead alough it has lost a lot of players and no doubt some more come 2142. I just didn't play it and just went back to playing SOF2, COD2 etc.

In all and all the 1.4 patch is pretty good, a patch can modify, make things better, or make things worse. A patch cannot get rid of smacktards.

And yeah that 8v8 was on a pvt server so it was locked. Didn't get tk'd once and everyone actually worked as a team. Wasn't team stacked either since half of Warchild were on the USMC and the other half MEC. I was on MEC and anytime a flag went neutral we killed the players taking the flag, as a team. We had the USMC pushed all the way up the hill and won.

Nah, the smacktards don't really bother me too much. I just wish the game was how we all hoped it was going to be pre-release. I know; wishful thinking. :P

It's nearly pointless to play on most pubs during the evening. The afternoon gamers are usually the friendliest (i.e. no little kids online) and cooperative. Very very late-night gamers also tend to play well.

You never realize the magic this game has until you play in a good squad. Where everyone is mic'ed, everyone is talking and the commander is giving your squad leader what you guys need to survive. You can really turn the tides in a losing battle with at least one great squad like this one. You end the map with a win and a huge smile..and you can see the feeling from others on your team when the map restarts and everyone is saying GG on the console.

Unfortunately, not many people shell out 10 measly bucks for a headset/microphone. Even fewer actually cooperate. Ever join a public server with ~25 people on each team and check the squad stats to see only maybe 9 people total in squads on your team? Yeah. It's stupid.

Some servers are policed heavily by the admins and usually they're more fun. When you kick *******es for camping uncappables (after warning them), everyone benefits. You see alot less crap going on in administered servers than you do the cartillery haxor servers where nobody gets kicked for anything, ever.

OMG! I have never experienced anything like that for an extended period of time. Is it something in the water over there? I mostly play on servers that have no admins present and no rules, and I have never seen this kind of behavior. I can see why you walked away. Sorry to hear that.

It is sad that there are so many detractors to the game that do this crap.

When I hear this, I get to thinking that GD, Colin had better get that community ranked map program up and going quick. Because we need a few DC style No Fly Zone maps that are packed with airplanes and lots of area to fly in. Sprinkle a couple choppers in for good measure.

Maybe then, all the kids that want the Helo or J10 will find a place to be play, without the TKs.

I still play a lot on the weekends, I have a girlfriend of a year and 9 months, I work only 3 and 4 days a week and that is at night only and I RARELY watch tv....bf2 it is .

I play it but yesterday was the first time in a month. I would play it non-stop if it wasn't for the loading times. I don't care about the bugs, its the loading times that put me off. There ridiculous!

Others are getting 1 minute loading times, im getting 10 minute long loading times and 80% of the time it says connection lost anyway.

That's my only beef with Bf2, other than that... lets just say that this is the best and worst game ever. (For me anyway)

I think that i must have a sh*t internet connection despite the fact it doesn't really show it. I mean, it's fast as hell on the internet so i don't understand why it would be so slow on Bf2.

My other guess is that it's slow because i have a laptop. People have told me that's not a good platform for Bf2...

^^ go over to the support sections and ask a few questions like what or if you should upgrade to enhance performance. i think it is just because you live in australia.

It's definetely not because i live in Australia. I have mates who live across the road from me and have much faster loading times.

Anyway, i will take your advice and head over to the support section soon.
