no everyone was saying that "there are still people playing" which means they thought he meant the game was dead... like.. no one is playing it anymore. He meant it was dead to him IE it's getting boring.

I haven't played in about a month man. Between school, homework, band practice and women, I haven't had much time lately; that and I really didn't want to run into more BS w/ 1.4. But I have noticed there are some people who still frequent the forums (such as myself) because we have grown to like the community.

So are there other people out there like me?

IMO BF2 is dead, and it's sad.

I play in a death metal band in Phoenix, and to the other guy; no. I live with my roomate and I go to college, and the other guy, noob alert my ***. I've been playing since MP demo.

metallicaguitarist is absolutely right, you should listen to him more often (or read my fukin post correctly), I'm just tired of battlefield 2. It's been over a year for me and last year, sure... I had a blast. But as I stated in my OP, I've been pretty busy so the time I do find that I have for recreation, I look at my BF2 case and think "uh... I don't even want to install it."...

and that sucks.

Because I did love this game alot but I feel it just went downhill and that's why I started this thread, because I wanted to know if there were others who felt the same way I do: jaded and disappointed.

Again, I still love the community and like to lurk on the forums. This is a forum that we can all relate to, since we all play it, or have played it. (enough to register on a forum).

It's funny because I built a brand new pc with 2x 7600s SLi and I don't even use it now

But to those of you who BF2 still shines a spark in your eyes, I'm glad you still have it, because mine has dimmed...

Yeah, forgot about this one. I tried POE2.

Pretty good mod, actually. But again, I guess I'm just jaded.

i must say i found the numbers of people playing to be disappointing.

i used to play Day Of Defeat and there are slightly less people playing DOD than BF2.

i just bought BF2 yesterday and i thought this was THE game to get, the one everybody played, thats not why i bought it, but that is what i thought.

If I am not mistaken, BF2 core servers outnumber the SF, EF, and AF servers put together. Which I can completely understand, I hate the SF maps. POE2 is everything SF should have been.

As for other games I'm not sure there is anywhere else to go. I mean at this time what tops BF2 in the online FPS market?

yes. there is. from texas a frend and i stell play bf2 .....
it seems like it keeps getten smaller but i can fly a plain now with out getting tked lol look for me charlesatterbury or johncarr we play all the time...later
