It looks like some of you missed the point, I think, Peoplekillingmachine was going for. He wanted to know if you are any good at the least played kits, AT, Assualt, and maybe sniper. I have over 1000 hours and around 200 hours with all three of the kits mentioned (AT, Assualt, Sniper). I also have over 700 hours as lone wolf, not because I prefer that but because I can rarely find someone who can or will hang with me.
Peoplekillingmachine is also right that there arent many who will go and die when thats the only way to take the Tank or Attack Chopper out. Ive even got to where I can take out the Attack chopper with the Tank. Not an easy task, trust me. Hes also right about the points you get, not many, doing this kinda stuff. However the effect it has on your skill level is remarkable. I can now take on 3 players with lower skill levels and kill them all and can see if its possible before I jump in there and get killed. There are many players with more, better skills but they are harder to find these days. . . . . . . . . . Red

I like infantry. I am always in the "only guy that spawned as AT" class and am trying to take out a tank. I get like 3 rockets off, then some medic is like, " LOL LOOK AT THIS BIG TUBE ON STILTS LET ME PULL THE TRIGGER LOL" and they get the kill after I did the work.

ye i play speco ops ( got my expert) and now im trying to get my support expert so i barrley play medic i usally get more points than medics to cause well i kick a$$ with the MG36 who dont one of the best guns.

As the year has passed and the ranks have gone by more and more I notice Ive fallen into a very very small minority.

Every server I join every round I play I usually look to join the squad of fellow higher ranks such as myself, in no way saying lower ranks are worse just that I know I can put a little more faith in the fact that a 50K point person might know or play a little better then say a guy that just broke 10k.

But heres were I feel as if Im the last of a dieing few....I dont play Medic.

It seems as if every single person I encounter that is slightly lower, equal, much higher..all just play medic, In fact I honestly dont think ive ever met a Colonel or higher that wasnt a Medic. Just today i joined a squad full of 100K plus score players...it was me switching between SpecOps/Assualt/Support and the rest of my squad were Medics, needless to say my corpse was revived countless times by an orgy of paddles..yet it made me wonder.

Is there any ground pounders left that dont pack a 36E/AK101-Paddle/heal pack?
I wonder to myself too, what if I did the medic thing? With only 1700 revies and 400 heals in my 980 hours played..could I have scored tens of thousands more points if I did use these tools?

So is there any of us left? Is there any people in Bf2 that has crossed over that 100k point marker playing mainly a ground pounder that hasnt relied 90% of a Medic class? I know there is maybe some vehicle users that have, but Im asking people who go infantry a majority of the time...are you out there?

I may not have an uber high rank (BF2 refused to work for the first 7+ months I owned it (I had one or two games in pre 1.3), but I play whatever my team seems to need the most at the time.

I do take the team thing seriously and, unfortunately, not many people do (which has been discussed here ad nauseum). If I'm playing Vanilla BF2, I'll go engineer and try to get repair points by squadding up with our teams' armor & repairing commander assets (notice that whether you call them assets or toys, it's still a double entendre). If I'm playing IO, I'm usually supply/sniper unless for some strange reason there are no medics.

I don't mind what class a person plays as, as long as they do their job. I've lost count of how many times I've needed health/ammo only to have two or three support/medics pass me right by on their way to battle. Say what you want about ammo/health spammers, at least you rarely run out of either with them near (as long as they don't drop their stuff IN FRONT of me when I'm trying to line up a shot, or go prone in front of me instead).

I'll use vehicles sometimes, but I find them more annoying as there's always a competition for them, and I have a hard time being in a tank/apc driven by someone else unless I know their skills beforehand. Combined with the fact that it's rare that my "armor please squad up" requests get granted, have pretty much left me to groundpounding.

I'm stil left! I always play the assualt now seeing how so many medics are out there. I love waiting for 3 medic running to revive someone and then GLing them all 3 with the newly revived baddie.

i find myself in infantry only using alot more team work, especially on jalalabad, i spawn as medic with L85a1 mainly because i am the squad leader almost always and if i die anyone from my squad can take my kit and revive. then i will usually use their kit until im forced to respawn. im usually slightly farther back than my squad hence why i use the l85 always on single shot save for tight corners, and if your in my squad and not with my group i will kick you from my squad. out of around 50 I/O matches ive played ive lost maybe 3 or 4 due to severely stacked teams. that includes jalalabad american. alot of team points to be had turning flags in less than 3 seconds too. however i cant say im not a medic whore anyways, but im not a revive u in front of 5 guys and a tank for 2 points and a death tho, i always clear them out first, and if i cant well sorry. ranked around 650 in medic with 20+ thousand kills to 14k deaths because im not a revive at all costs kind of medic. not bad since almost all high ranks are medics.

I usually have a sense that the other guys on my team are thinking "die die die!!!" cause they never really seem to want to help me..just revive me.

AT is what I love most.
Medic and support are the last on my list.
Recently I’ve started to play more assault. I like to flash people here and there… and F2000 has more bullets then G3. I always run out of bullets.

For those of you who say they play medic and don't drop med packs and revive alot, why play it at all? A medic's job is to do just that. Reviving keeps tickets on the board so you are helping your team win by doing so.

Somehow it's stupid to notice that medic class is aquipped with most lethal guns. (Ok, Spec-ops has good one too)

I play infantry more than I do vehicles, and I'm usually AT or Assault (my two favourite kits). I'll play medic if my squad needs one or if I pick one up while kit scavenging, but usually I'm the guy with the rocket launcher that's trying to take out the tank that the rest of the team is running away from. :p

It is ALL about the AT. Although I've gotten out of BF2 (CTDs pissed me off), I was always toting the tube. I got boned on points, because there's never armor when you wanted it, always when you're not ready, and they pop out before the tanks blows (God, that's infuriating. I took equisite pleasure in running them down with my DAO-12 if they tried to hoof it.)

However, there is nothing like the feeling of popping a death machine down to nothing, modern day dragonslaying, if you will. You're the man for your team, if only for a moment.

And, I do love gunning down fast movers (DPV, FAV). Whoosh.... boom! 3 Kills.

So yeah, no points, but hella more fun than the paddle orgy.

I try and play medic only when my squad/team need it...sometimes it gets too busy for me to play and I like killing people instead of having the job of reviving my dead teammate. That said, I LOVE playing assault or sniper or support.
