If you would have had a "2nd best patch ever" I would have voted for that. Instead I said they should be preparing a new patch because there are still some nagging issues with the game. However, overall I'm very pleased with this patch and the new map.

I have had no problems with BF2 ever since the 1.3 patch and now 1.4 is out I can say I have no problems with this patch too. My only complaint with BF2 is just how weak the handgun is, you have to empty a whole clip into a guy to kill him online so its useless, they should have made the gun stronger.

dont kno yet since i just built/isntalled my comp and my graphics card is taking a really long time to ship so right now im using a beautiful ati 7000 series card w00t..its not bad acutally if u dont play games

I can't pull up the 1000's of servers available anymore with the new patch. Whenever I search for a server to play, only about 60 servers show up.

I've tried downloading new patch, as suggested in another thread, and I still get the same results. Most of the 60 or so servers are highlighted in red so I can't even play those servers. I really enjoy playing 64 player servers, but now I am lucky to see 1 or 2 of these servers available.

By force, I cannot play BF2 anymore and I must retire the game. Due to the fact that I had so many issues with BF2, I will not buy BF2142. It's a shame because I enjoy the game when it works, but I am just not going to put myself through the frustrations of what I expect will be the same in BF2142.

Well it's the best patch ever if you compare it to the other patches and I love the delay's I just needed some adjustment but now I love them no more dolphin divers anymore only bunnyhopping but that's ok with me.

So what is really going on??? Why am I having problems with my specs. i admit that I have cranked out the BF2 settings but with 2 7800 I shouldnt have any problem.

Well remember that after the patch you have to go back and redo all of your video settings. If you are running the default BF2 settings and they conflict with the card and display settings, you could/will have issues. Also forcing resolutions, AA/AF and other settings through video card that aren't supported by the game creates problems. Also delete your shader cache and start over. If you have several folders of shaders (everytime you change your BF2 video settings, patch or re-install, etc), that might have some impact on performance. BTW SLI mean it's better than a single card.

I have not experienced a server crash and had 1 CTD (I had them occationally before 1.3 too). No major issues, but definite measurable difference in server stability.

Just because you don't have any problems doesn't mean 'it's the best patch ever'.

then vote it's the best one so far? as the others were crap. I haven't had a single propblem with this one, none. But they are more than likely preparing for another patch now :p

Actually, if DiCE had abandon support of BF2, it would have been best at 1.22. They finally fixed the AA problem and they had not yet gimped the BH. The game Frame Rate was still great and it was much more stable.

EA is abandoning the game for BF2142 soon, but yeh...
