A friend of mine with the exact same specs can't play BF2 anymore.
He reinstalled BF2+ full 1.4 +SF + full1.4 + Af + full 1.4 like 3 times. But keeps getting crash to desktop.
I myself get them alot too, and am serously worried about EA making another patch, which would double my connection problems again.

Sorry, I hope I did not rain on your picnic with my GL. In the last several weeks, I rediscovered the assault kit just because it was never being utilized. Please, don't ask DiCE to gimp the kit.

I am getting tired of everyone saying, gimp the grenades, gimp the grenade launcher, nerf the choppers, remove the PKM accuracy....WTF do you people want? These are all tools to kill people, and some do their job well in the right hands!

How much ram do you have? That is common for low RAM crowd.

As this point, the patch turned for me,

Plus point for the patch:

• Road to Jalalabad: Because I'm a infantery whore, I like Jalalabad. It's look like Strike at Karkand without the Hell Road (I mean the street where APC and tank get free kill over and over).
• Server Browser: Respond faster, but bugs are still there.

Minus Point:

• CTD: I experience less CTD, but I think It's worst than before. Now, it's happen just before the round end. You don't even get a chance to see your score if you done well a round.

ok.......i didn't vote because its not the best patch ever (1.12 - 1.2), and its definately not worse than 1.3.....its somewhere in between....

I have had a lot more stability with 1.4 than with 1.3......i haven't seen the red tag/blue tag bug post 1.3.........havent CTDed....lost connection to server once but I'm not certain it was due to 1.4....

I think the order for reinstall is 1: BF2 2: expansions 3: full patch

I've been robbed a kabillyun times more on my knife kills post 1.4.....dno whas goin on here....

over all ithink 1.4 offers waaaay more content and stability/fixes than issues.....for me anyway

So far, the patch 1.4 is pretty stable. After hours and hours of playing, I have not yet gotten a crash to desktop. I hope it remains like that. In terms of gameplay, I do not notice any changes, except for infantry mode. I don't really like this mode for larger maps because everyone plays sniper and just kills each other from the distance. And by the time they get to a flag, they get sniped to death or get blown up by claymores. So far this is the best patch... so far.

i had the red bug lastnight. sides kept switching every round so it gets hard to remember what side your on at times. but i saw a guy and he was red and mec. i was thinking i'm mec too but thought maybe i was wrong. so i killed him and i checked to see if it was a teamkill. but the kill didn't even show up.. but it did show i killed him in the lower part of the srceen. then checked the map and i was mec too. every odd.

i don't like the laggy feel the game has now.
amd64 3800
2 gig's of fast timing ram. 2-3-3-5
6800gt 256meg
i run med setting and no AA or AF

the game shouldn't feel laggy. it wasn't laggy in 1.3 for me. and yes i tried different drivers. it's better but still laggy.

i voted This patch is even worse than 1.3 because i hate the laggy feel of the game now.

It's a good patch
but they still need to fix
-J-10
-Claymores
-jets amount of ammo (needs more)
- Chopters amount of ammo (needs more)
- and the Point system and awards needs to be fixed

What is with the people complaining about the J10? So it's better than the F35, so what? Find a way to avoid it, like flying high and when tailing one don't shoot off missiles fast so he knows where you are. Or even better, don't sit on the carrier for hours and wait for planes! Create a squad and help the US take the airfield, which leads to, guess what! No J10s! I haven't had any server crashes/CTD since 1.4, I voted best patch ever. Prone spamming has FINALLY been fixed, as there now is a delay between all stances. Haven't seen one spammer/flopper in 2 weeks, which is a huge plus when trying to get a spec ops badge. I've personally lost a little interest in BF2 as of late because of Relic's new game, Company of Heroes. Got the beta demo on a PC Gamer CD and it's the best RTS ever, period. Don't believe me? Wait until Sept. 14, get it, and you'll be a fan. Plus the 30k point wasteland is only half over and I've got no interest in spending 2 more months trying to get out. WoW and Guild Wars are also looking pretty good ATM, I'll still play BF2 on occasion though, but with 2142 coming out, most of my favorite servers are full cause ppl want to get that extra time in for that extra medal in 2142. I won't be buying 2142, futuristic combat just doesn't do it for me. And the whole concept of the Titan mode just doesn't really make sense in the concept of Battlefield IMO.

TBH, I think you should have one more option in your poll for: Nothing Special.

Because, honestly, I still don't think we are ahead of where we were at pre-1.3. This patch was just a fix for that patch. I don't see much difference, I still get the occasional server crashes.

I hope DiCE is working on 1.5. I would love to see their white-board of things they plan on doing.

Exactly how I feel. It's good that they've improved stabilty but it still crashes every so often and all the dumb glitches and bugs haven't changed at all.
