What makes you guys think that anyone will actually give a **** about infantry stats anymore? You guys say "finally i can get good stats" and "easy stats" but going on IO mode is the equivalent of getting in armour on a city map. You know how when you saw someone with a huge armour KDR on Karkand you said "Armour whore" now what makes you think that when you see a huge assault rifle KDR on karkand people won't think "IO medic G36E n00b"

Exactly. This game is easy if you're looking to get good stats. It's funny that so many people aim to get good stats yet they have such **** stats.

People here at Totalbattlefield2 arent very nice.. I made this post wondering who was with me on that, I didnt want people giving me solutions on how to live with it.. You say to just not play the IO maps, and I love Strike on Karkand.. Favorite map in the game, so I usually look for a 24/7 Strike On Karkand map. But no, Most of them are infantry only or full. And again, I was just wondering if anyone was with me, and was expecting posts like "Im with you man, I hate the new IO mode" or "No, I dont really agree with you. I think IO mode is a cool thing they added in to enhance the gameplay."
So I guess Im just going to start making polls now and not reading the replys if people here are ALWAYS like this..

IO should exisit i men after all you got P&K servers that havent gotten taken off the net and IO is way less illegal as some of you may call it. so how bout you go play with vehicals and its not like in a IO server all you do is just walk around you can use vodinks and humvees for transport just not apc or tanks. like SUPER@ caln have 3 infatry only servers and when there is no admin most peole still use infatry.

But rather than "play something else" themselves they whined until BF2 was changed.

No one asked for this, Dice added it by their choice.
If you remember, when the beta features/change list were announced, most of us were shocked to see it.

They are plenty of vanilla servers, if you don't like it, don't play it.
Simple as that.

I do belive that IO is statpadding, & goes against the grain of the battlefield feel, & sort of invalidates the whole ranking/stats system

I was in no hurry to try it, or the new map, I was working on my Insurgent medal (got it yesterday), so I found 4 24/7 Warlord servers, the only 1 that wasn't "laggy" was an IO

I LOVE IT

Nades, nade 'em back, or be shoot quick enough to kill before they throw, I usually rush 'naders closing the distance before they can change weapons, & proning right in their face, & blasting them

I like the light machine gun, specifically the RPK-74, it is the J-10 of IO, you can mow whole squads down like bowling pins

It really does seperate the "men from the boys" in infantry fighting, I always have killed infantry 2, or 3 to 1, & then suffered casualties from armor, heli, jet, & arty because I love to be cclose to the action

I admit to being an"armor whore", but there was some "balance", even in karkand, now I am firmly on top of the food chain

I got 210 points yesterday, 85 kills (I got 2 "buzzer beaters"), & 40 deaths

Next nearest player had 157 points w/ 61 kills



skillz is skillz, no matter what the weapon is, this mode just levels the playing field

Without a doubt it does.
Yes the sheer number of kills per player is higher, but ratio wise, if you are not good on the ground, you won't do any better than you do in vanilla.

Honestly, IO (when played on smaller servers, I don't dig the 64 man stuff) really reminds me of the more controlled, precise atmosphere found in scrims/league play to some degree.

The main reason is 1v1's.
I'm getting into way more 1v1's with other players in IO than I ever did on vanilla servers, and I love it when I run into someone with a great gun over and over.

What is hard to understand is that this "legalized statpadding" is ranked

My "ground pounding" stats may not be great, but I "EARNED" them under harsh battlefield conditions, not some infantry "free-for-all", & I was working to improve them successfully everyday, all I can do now is join the statpadding fest

Another thought, even if they put unarmed vehcles in IO, ppl would just fvck it up by using them as weapons to run over ppl, it would be even worse, you would not be able to walk any where

Bajawoojie--I'm with you, BF2 was made with vehicles and should stay that way. It makes no sense fighting without vehicles, I guess we walked across the ocean to fight in the Middle East.

First it's a gamemode don't like it go play your conquest I play conquest too but sometimes I play Infantry only for fun.

Second to the OP it's better to post your opinion in a existing thread if you have used the search function you would have seen dozens of threads about this particular subject.

IO is great for knife kills......ridiculously easy.....i love it...

sure it noobified BF2 so the kiddies can whore their precious points.....but IO just keeps them dumbified, never gaining skill....play style growing stagnant and suffering atrophy from the mindless no-skill spam whorage mode....i think i got hit with one grenade since ive been playing IO these past few days...its not like its raining nades and theres no safe passage....

i like IO because it forces ppl to stick together......numerous times ive been able to knife entire squads at a time.....im lovin IO for its easy kills....that equates to fun for me....

the knife has always been my primary weapon in IO....
