I’m trying to be polite. It’s not my fault every time I play BF2 I get Vietnam flashbacks.

I’m just sick of people crying about realism in a VIDEO GAME!

The only people crying about crouch delay are jet pilots because they all get owned on the ground fighting.

Plus every pilot is a noob on ground fighting period.

Well at least that is a true argument - I can appreciate that position that whatever you have gotten used to gameplay-wise, it's disruptive to introduce major changes like these after a year.

What amazes me is how in the heck they could have let this incredibly predictable issue go undetencted/unadressed through their test. The kind of kidnergarten physics and body-movement dynamics we see in BF2 are so obviously far from what the core-gamers desire from a Battlefield game with such an otherwise fine pedigree. Gameplay in BF1942 and BF:Vietnam was so far away from what BF2 has when it comes to this.

The very first videos on the Internet from BF2 brought grave concerns in the serious gamer forums when the jumo-heights were seen...In Germany on the prestigious BFCON convention, some EA brass came around and demonstrated it - and the audience asked about these excessive dynamics.
Here we are - over a year later - with a panic-patch that is rather clumsy - and that give rise to reasonable arguments like yours.

        Cheers :-)

I just hate it when people compare BF2 to real life. In real life you can't prone spam... in real life you can't hop forever... but in real life you can't do that 360 roll in mide air landing in one shot killing that nub. 98% of you have never held a gun in your life. It's a fricken video Game that is base on warfare. Stop nurfing things just so weaklings can at least have a chance at this game. I don't understand why you people can't just do it back instead of whinning to EA and such.

Well you can say everything, but pronespamming still works fine and is very effective. The delay is no problem if you time it right and use that time to actually aim and shoot.

I didn't notice the delay to be quite honest with you.

It doesn't stop dolphin diving at all! It just makes you spaz out when you crouch!

realism can be applied to fantasy aswell, its all about believability. the "its a video game" argument doesnt go very far in my eyes, americas army is a video game aswell.

weak minded players (area fps players) should have to learn how to fight with skill, this game was never meant to be a spontanious dodge while shooting your enemy type game. its not supposed to be slow, but its also supposed to be believable.

because i dont wanna fight like a noob, and i dont think noobs should be able to win if they fight that way either. theres plenty of double jump rocket arenas out there, this game should be a happy mix between arcade and simulation. instaprone, dolphin dive, prone spam, and bunny hopping arent in the middile, they are arcade, and do not require the same degree of skill as stop and shoot, imo. really all those manuvers ever were in any game was poor game design or exploits.

let me get this straight, once you go prone or crouch you cant fire your gun until after 2 seconds?

and when you stand up from prone or crouch there is a 2 sec delay before you can fire your gun?

hope thats not the case, god that will be lame

As with all things quoted by people dependent upon an exploit that has been removed, it is an exaggeration. The delay that exists is exactly the same as the delay that has existed since patch 1.21 with the delay of action when moving from a prone to a standing position.

The only thing that has been added is the delay has now been applied to the crouch-to-standing motion as well. To stop the prone-jumping exploit.

And guess what? It works. The only people that are having a problem with it, are the prone-jumpers.

 it's true. any time i run into a jet whore on the ground and kill 'em they always get a nice tea bagging and spam of "thanks champ" just as a reminder of how much they suck on the ground.

Usually the jet whores leave the server when they can't get their jet or if a non-jet map comes along...
