    Re: prone->crouch delay 2sec?

    It's a case of we go back or we go forward. We can continue to leave these character motions in games, while everything around us becomes a more and more believable mimicry of R.L. Or we can take them out and get up to par with other elements in BF2.

    I don't think BF2 was meant to be a complex arcade shooter, I think it was meant to be more of a hybrid. Moving in the direction away from every other previous FPS release is good. Staying stagnant or god for bid regressing is just a waste of time. Twitchy shooters? Been there done that.

    If BF2 is better the way the rambos claim, then how come every major full converstion mod attempts to get away from that ? I believe it's because the mod makers know BF2's strong points, and jumping around and killing people ad nasueum is not one of them.

    Even though POE2s weapons are much more deadly, it had the reverse effect that you would normally think that would cause, because of the map layouts and other game elements.

    How come there's no twitchy, jumpy, low gravity mod? Because that's not what BF2 is best suited for. Just to look at the game itself and what it represents one should come to the conclusion that going in the direction of "realism" is a better use of the core foundation we've been given.

      amen disfigured, very well put.

      BlueBlaz0r, you know, alot of people that arent exclusive ground pounders, and kick *** in vehicles, do it soley because they lost the round before due to sub par pilots and drivers on thier team. alot of us can play more than one type of game well.

        No, there's a delay for prone to standing and prone to crouch. I don't know where the two seconds comes from, I've timed it with a stop watch and it's about 3/4 seconds.

          I haven't played 1.4 very much, but have they stopped people getting into the sort of positions they could if their legs could stick out?

          That was the tradeoff IMOH, you managed to get your guy into impossible situations, and if you did it stupidly, you got your legs blown off.

            I must say as a skilled AT player this delay is really a pain in the ***. Before 1.4 you could take out a tank on your own just by popping up, launching a rocket, get down again, move to a different possition, repeat...
            Now this kind of "hide and seek" gameplay (wich I loved) is not possible or a lot more difficult to do.

            Ah wel, that's life, we'll adapt and find new ways to take out tanks...it's a pity though.

              yeah, the exploits are gone!!!111!!!1!!

              and now we have a cs wannabe where the first one that fires a bullet wins, you have to stand still like a stone and spray and pray that a random bullet hit. Thats how much skill there is in inf in bf2. P ussynoobs like you are happy, arent you? you who play like bots, but wellwell, bf2 is already dead... wait they even managed to **** up the hitboxes even more in 1.4, gg..

                we just have to adapt to what EA brings out in their patches. What does whining get us? Usually nothing. I think it stinks too, but I'll have to adjust my tactics.

                  no, its the noobs/bots who should adapt to how the game really should be played, but instead they whine and nerf the game. Omg stupid people

                    Re: prone->crouch delay 2sec?

                    the exploiters got this game patched....PERIOD end of this argument.....EA/DICE felt they had to resort to nerfing to save the game from these retard exploiters....

                    ppl who complained about the exploiters are not whiners, they werent whining, they were making valid complaints...

                    obviously these exploitive 'tactics' were completely unintended, and undesirable in the eyes of EA/DICE and THEY felt a nerf was in order....

                    i find it ironic that they nerf the game to save it from the retard exploiters

                    these expoloiting noobs should adapt to play the game as it was intended.....oh wait, that requires skill and intelligence....rare
