If the stats were deleted, would I buy BF2142?

Well I'm planning on buying it anyway so :-)

I play for fun, not for stats.

        Yes, I'd still buy 2142

In the end, I would be sad, because I have an Excel spread sheet that has tracked my accuracy ratings for the last month. I watch certain stats because my character took a nose dive back in January.

            http://bf2s.com does that for you.

            For example

That is what I'm talking about. If you're so worried about stats, you arn't having fun. You can't just enjoy and relax...or do positive things for your team such as provide cover fire.

I am a very good player, but during a period of time, my machine and my playing style just took a dump, so I have been watching it come out of the hole for a while.

I provide cover fire... by killing the enemies when they're dumb enough to poke their heads out when my squad-mates are rushing up towards the flag.

In fact, my favorite moments, and most of my 20+ kill streaks come from the times when I'm providing cover for my team... The PKM is really good for cover.

I'm opting out, to instead make my KDR grow, which has been very successful for me recently. There isn't a match that doesn't pass by without me getting 30+ kills, and only 8-10 deaths.

God I love being a pub n00b, since I get to play against other pub n00bs.

Well I don't care about ranking. However it is closing in on 2142 time. Wouldn't it be nice if someone accidently hit that nice delete button the SQL data bases, and all the players were lost?

Ya, my KDR is pretty bad, but when I play now, at the end of the round, I am so much better.

But, this is why I love the stat system...I like it not because of the ranks, but the stats I get to watch.

                        I agree 100%.

I work to better myself in certain areas based on the growth rates of the spreadsheets that bf2s.com provides.

Also, I've been trying to balance the stages that I play out a lot more, just so I can erase my, "Karkand N00b" past.

Right now my goal is to replace Karkand with Mashtuur as my most played stage. Only 21 more hours to go... *Sigh*

Ya, I used to have Karkand, but I got pissed and found I liked Sharqi way more. Now, I am upset that my Sharqi is so high, I can't replace it. I want to get an EF map like Operation Smoke Screen for the map now. But we are talking a lot of hours.

Mashtuur is the most balanced map in the game, so I'd wear it like a badge of honor to have it as my most played map. :)

After I do that though, I'll probably start working on my W/L ratio for all the rare maps. (Fushe/Dalian/Clean Sweep/Daqing)

It's personal goals like these that keep me interested in BF2 since I don't have a clan to motivate me.

Ya, I think my next goal is going to get all the SF awards. But here again, we are talking crazy time in the game.

As long as you're having fun getting it, who cares how much time it takes?

                                Personal Goals > Stat Whoring.
