My stats went to zero this evening if its a ploy by EA to make me but BF2142 it won't work. Playing the dragon map before hand and having an enjoyable game. Seriously peeved.

if my stats were lost that would suck i would be mad for about a day then go and get a new game and wait for bf2142 and not ever play bf2 again

If EA is so incompetent to lose stats, then I won't hold DICE Sweden accountable for it. BF2142 looks like an awesome game, and I'm getting it. Because I know that no matter how many bugs the game has, I'll still love to play it, just like BF2. No other game will ever come close. Besides, I don't really care about stats, just the unlocks.

Seriously, they'd have to have a catastrophic hardware failure across multiple sites (I hope the stat servers aren't all in the same datacenter) then have their backups become corrupt (they make backups, right?) and they have their off site long term backups go missing.

Reading that again... Ok, I'm worried now. :p

I would LMFAO if that happened, but that would be like PAYING people to go play ET:QW. It would have the same effect anyway. Even if you don't care about stats, you can't overlook gross corporate incompitence (in most cases...)

It's a plan being initiated by EA. Once we near the release date for 2142 more and more people will lose their stats.
