1.5Mb down 256k up here on DSL and its sweet. Me and the Mrs can play on the same connection no worries so you won't have any probs. Best thing about DSL compared to cable is no sharing you bandwidth with everyone else. When the kiddies get on cable can slow down and suffer packet loss. No probs like that with DSL.

I also have the 3MB sbc dsl and it rocks. Used comcast for a while and it was down for 2-3 days a week (horrible) plus it cost $55 bucks a month compared to sbc's 29.95. I think in 2 years my sbc has gone down twice for about an hour or two.

Whatever you do don't get satelite dsl. Had satelite tv for a few years and everytime it rains the it would lose it's signal and go out. I imagine the dsl would do the same.

Verizon DSL for me as well.

I have the plan that is supposed to be up to 3MB/s down 768Kb/s up. In reality I get about 1.1MB/s down and 350Kb/s up. It is noticably slower than cable for downloads, but for playing BF2 your ping on your favorite server might only go up a couple milliseconds. You'll also be saving money b/c DSL is cheaper than cable.

Agreed....and it keeps going up and up and up...it really is out of control actually. I do however WISH thats what my car payments look like. They haven't been that good in years. Car prices are REALLY out of control.

What do you drive, a Yugo? LOL! I wish my car payment was even remotely that low!


On topic, my DSL routinely gives me a lower ping on servers than my clanmates running cable, for less than 1/2 price.

I use DSL and get kicked for ping from time to time. but it works well so i deal with it.
