Anyone play online with DSL?

I will be moving soon and my house will not have cable so I will have to have satellite TV and use DSL. I was just wondering if gameplay is drastically altered while using DSL. Right now I have Roadrunner Cable internet from Time Warner Cable.

Im using DSL, just be sure your dsl have a download speed more than 100kbps will be fine.

6 months ago I switched from cox cable($40 a month) to sbc/at&t dsl ($14.99 a month with a free modem) and im loving my dsl. My download speeds are slilghtly slower than cable but not worth paying an extra $25 a month for. Also my ping on my favorite servers are exactly the same as before.

I have over 5 megabit down and almost 1 megabit up for less than what I paid for dailup 3 years ago with Fiber to the Home a possibility within 5 years. All mine. No others sharing it between me and the telco.

Yes I have the dish. Cable is the snake in the weeds that you gotta watch out for (Both Net and TV) all that hissing going on with the fee increases.

It is important to be within 12,000 feet of the Telco building for good DSL. Im less than a half mile from mine so no worries there.

The only inconvience is John T Burned in tech support from Bombay India who tells you that sowwy your DSL building is down for upgrades once or twice a year after 4 painful hours fighting off the incessant questions to do simple things like "What is your Operating System?"

I have sympatico high speed dail-up and works smoothly just as long as there isnt too much traffic on hub. I should be switching to cable in September. I hope anyway.

I am on SBC DSL and it plays just fine. I have a good rig and play with everything maxed out on 1280x1024 and 6X Antialiasing without issue.

I friggin hate DSL in Australia. Slow speeds and very expensive. I guess that's Broadband in general down here. I pay $129AUD per month for 1.5Megabit Down with 90Gb limits.

Hooooooooooly crap. Unless the AUD is worth one or two US quarters, then, damn, that's a hefty price. I feel better about my $42US per month cable at an *advertised* 4MBs speed. Maybe I'll quit looking for the $25/month DSL deals.

But I do hate hate hate writing a $142 check every month for crappy television + internet. That's almost a car payment.
