WWII would be great, the atmosphere is so much better than in any other time of war...well in games then :) . Battlefield 1942, Forgotten Hope...yeah. Waiting for FH2 all the way.

If they released BF2 again without all theb bugs I would buy it again.. It's the best game I've ever played CS 1.6 was too mono.. I just like all the vehicles. The only negative thing were the bugs ..

And I love WW2 Games especially maps like Wake or something flying with those old planes and dropping bombs no missiles etc. :)

I think another WW2 game would be rad especially as PC’s are getting quite powerful there are so many things you could do now.

For unlocks as an example there are so many field conversions that where used you could use them as unlocks not to mention some of the less frequently used ones.
Let’s say custom scopes for rifles or maybe with experience you decide to take the bipod off the BAR making it a more mobile weapon, more accurate from the hip as opposed to with the bipod when it’s more a suppression weapon. Extra frontal armour on your Sherman, new engine etc.

Aircraft upgrade options linked to your profile. When you get into an aircraft it will react differently to you. Let’s say you decide to strip out armour plating making your Spitfire more nimble, faster but more prone to pilot death when you get bounced from behind. Cannon upgrades and engine upgrade. Maybe with new engines you could even have the aircraft physically change it’s look. Custom Squadron emblems fixed to your profile. Even newer versions of the same aircraft like when you get into a Corsair you’ve experience so it’s the F4U-1D model instead of the B with the birdcage canopy. Maybe even that when you get in the Me-109 becomes a FW-190 as you unlocked it. The maps will be bigger so we will have 64 a side which would mean epic battles both land sea and air, hell it could go even bigger!

Map specific unlocks! Naplam for your Hellcat anyone!!

I do think that the animation for WW2 aircraft is still too slow though. I’ve flown low in a Cessna and it looked faster than WW2 air games I’ve played. 400km an hour is pretty bloody quick and the Zero could roll so quick it can black you out. Hey blackouts and redouts would be a cool feature, would help get away, stamina unlocks!


I think future WW2 games done right will be amazing, there are so many untouched aspects to it still and with some imagination could be best ever! Man, I should write games my idea is cool.

I honestly beleave if bf42 was remade on a new engine and done right it would be the greatest FPS game ever made espeacially if they made it a massivily multiplayer online first person shoter. Think about 500+ players on a omah type beach (im thinking of the omah level from COD the big red one on the ps2) it would be absoutly insane. Its not only that i cant think of any earra in time with such a varied amount of weapon and locations all used at once. You've got flamethrowers and flamthrower tanks , Bouncing bombs (the dam busters), Super cannon (something the germans had), Mini subs, cannoes (british commands used them), Battleships, Tanks with all sorts of weird attachments (i.e. something to clear mines a big round cylinder thing with chains on that spinned), Mountain troops (lol i want to ski down a mountain with a fully automatic weapon while shoting germans james bond stylie). You've also got things like land based naval guns pilla boxes trenches (massive deffense lines). The possibility of mixed units from different armies that are allies. Jungle warfair, desert warfair, urban warfair, Artic warfair, naval warfair, spies, sabotage. Basically you name it WWII had it (lol except for outerspace stuff) the possibilities for a new bf42 are endless im sure theres so many thing that didnt make it in the original game because of system requirments but could be added now.

I really liked to see a WWI game, the battles of somme and verdum.
The chivalry in the air...massive infantry battles.

18zulukiller Has a point... it will be the greatest WWII FPS... and probably a top 10 on the FPS ranking.

I really hope that EA could take this little poll in consideration... is a little sample of the opinion of the BF community

PLEASE YES!!! WW2 theme on bf is just amazing, it was on 1942 engine, just think how cool it would be with new engines

i would, an improved version of 1942 would be sweet. id rather play that than 2142. i play these games because of the realism, 2142 just looks ridiculous

I would buy the game if it went to WWII, but it better be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than 1942, cuz I don't want two copies of the same game with just different labels on them.

Imagine a BF3 based on WWII... in no time we have a new DC !! or EoD... r even FH2 .... OMG this sound great... ofcoz the ppl at DICE probable dont think the same as we do... probably they think like EA's suit.

THEY should combine alll of the games to create a super BF. Then u could select what time period u wanted to play in. Well i no it will not happen but its a nice thought :)

I've been dying for a BF1942 total conversion since Battlefield Vietnam...

I loved the pacific maps they released as part of the BFV TC project, but then the project just..died.

What made Bf42 great was the maps, without a doubt, it made the game one of the BEST WW2 games ever.
