I didn't sign up and I don't think it was exactly "random" either.


All the people I recognize from forums (TotalBF2, PlanetBattlefield and EA UK) have either high post counts or ,IMHO, tend to post constructively. (most were also people that tested 1.4 beta)

Others are people that tested 1.3 (BFROE people), members of some of the bigger clans and some well-known, high-scoring BF2 players.

A random bunch maybe but there's probably a logic behind it somewhere.

25th August is definitly the Beta. Why would a free demo come out around the exact same time as the purchased Beta? I'm guessing that the demo will come out in September, or early October whenever EA decideds to release it in that month.

I would guess demo maybe a week before release like BF2.

LOL ok fair enough i guess i want be taking part then as the only beta ive ever paid for is mount & blade and i honestly think that was bad mistake on my part.

do you know by chance if it is all fine and dandy if you get a beta key from someone with two fileplanet subscriptions (and him of course only using one of the keys )

Cleaner, I can't imagine why that would be a problem. If someone is paying for 2 Fileplanet subscriptions (why ever the hell he would is another matter!) then he'll probably get 2 keys if he's applied to the beta testing using both Gamespy downloads.

Have you played yet, or are you still downloading the client. Also, where were you downloading it from? EA's own site?

I'm still downloading it as I'm not a Fileplanet Subscriber (where I'm getting it from) and so am limited to 100kb/sec.
