2142 Demo on 25th August

Hello all

In case you didn't know (or in case no one else has posted this - I tried searching) it seems we might get the 2142 demo on the 24th August according to Planetbattlefield.

I'm trying to remain unexcited and cynical about this after all the BF2 patch malarky but hey, it's shiny and new so I can't wait :-)

Demo? I think you mean the Beta. Fileplanet subscribers get it next week. It will be free to every one else later.

Do you actually have a cite for that or is it another "1.4 patch delayed by 24 hours"-type story?

My birthday's the 24th, and I think it will be better than BF2. With 40 unlocks, there's gotta be a grappling hook and a zip line upgrade and those are my favorite things to use.

Grr. . . just realized why I wasn't getting any e-mails about this from Gamespot. . . wrong defunct e-mail (spam catcher account) assigned to the profile. Updated now, hope that I'll get an e-mail on it. . .

How does the VIP beta key thing work?

You get an e-mail from EA giving you a key that's needed to both download the client and also install the game.

The key is linked to your Gamespy email address which for a lot of people is also their BF2 account. So spreading your beta key around the 'net probably wouldn't be a great idea.
