#1. It prevents them from lining up shots, instead they're being forced to lead their shots. A lot of people have trouble leading their shots from a distance, so this does actually help at first.

#2. If I spot them, I can go instant prone, and I can pound them back. Even if they're crack shots, I'll still be able to do at least 1/2 of their life, and get an assist kill for their sneaky arses.
      Same here...but not always
I just bunny hope if I'm reloading and I saw someone turning the corner of a wall of if their's a tank/APC shooting at me

WHat I hate it's the stupid macro user who jump/prone/jump/prone because they know they suck too much and they will get shot if they don't do that
Their's a server where I often play that the almost all the clan member are doing that...it's so funny to headshot them with a sniper rifle

lol nice. I hate bunny hoppers and I never do it, ever. The on time I might is if I'm killing a guy and he tries to run then he camps a corner behind a wall but I have a UAV I'll run, then jump around the corner and prone (gace to face with him basically) and unload into his face. But that's just because I hate camping noobs.

Just because you don't doesn't make it BS. I happen to be pretty good with the engineer kit, so before you go making assumptions, take a look around you.

I'm going to do something that I doubt you'll ever see on a web-board concerning a highly competitive player vs player game: I'm going to confess, without justifying myself. =)

I admit to being a bunny hopper, a dolphin diver, and an instant proner. As a result of using such painfully cheap tactics, I tend to turn a bad situation into a good one that typically works out in my favor. If I didn't use one of those cheap tactics, I would have died, and I would instead be apologizing to my squadron for messing up, since I'm typically their spawn point as their squad leader.

Because of the knowledge that those three cheap tactics work, I have inadvertantly trained myself to act that way just by sheer reflex during situations of great duress. As a result, I tend to come out on top.

I don't use a third party program, so what I do is not against the BF2 Rules of Engagement. I openly admit that it's cheap, and that it's unfair to players who have not themselves mastered the use of those cheap tactics.

I know this will tick some people off, and I'm sorry you hate me for using such cheap tactics, but I'm afraid that even if I tried not to use them, I would just resort to using them during a moment of duress without even thinking anyways.

I wonder if people would complain if everyone strafed left and right like mad if they were being shot at. This seems a legit way to avoid fire. Do it on the other axis ie up and down ie bunnyhop instaprone and it becomes cheap. Weird. I don't do it much. I will hop like mad in front of a tank or APC. I do instaprone when I use the single pump shotgun. After I shoot it. Then stand back up once pumped and fire again. I don't think this is too cheap. I am using a single shot gun againt full automatic weapons. In choosing a gun that is at a disadvantage and I must find a way to get the upper hand. Or I counld just use the G36E or PKM like most everyone else.

I don't bedgrudge anyone for doing it.

I just think it makes a great game look aweful, from an esthetics standpoint.

                              How do I kill them?

I don't play their game. If your running down the middle of the street and don't plan to pull every manuever in the book while out in the open you not going to last long. It's a learned response, and a "skill" like any other. If you haven't adpoted this playing style/skill, it's not advisable to go venturing into that neighborhood.

I wait. I lurk. I don't let anyone get near me in the open. I move from point to point of cover.

Being ready instead of rushing helps me. That takes their edge away to some degree. Eventually you get in tight enough were you have to meet up with some one of this ilk.

I like the semi circle if they go prone. Give em a moving target. That's an old FPS move from way back. Strafe (side step) in one direction but keep fire on the same point.

Some times the magic works, some times it doesn't. That goes for both competitors.

Thats almost exactly what I do. Encircling the enemy is extremely effective. If you get them from the side, then they're the ones who have to, 'panic bunny hop', and if you're a crack shot, most of the time they won't get their chance to shoot back, or they'll continue panicking and continue to jump around like dinks.

However, taking a flag with just a squad of ground pounders can get a little heavy, since theres rarely any cover. Even if there is cover, it's an easy target for grenades. As a result, I have unfortunately trained myself in the use of those three cheap tactics during moments like that. =(

Those cheap tactics when coupled with the PKM are a very powerful combo at that. One Jump + Insant Prone + PKM = Wow!

If I'm playing a gun that gets great accuracy while crouching/standing though, I'll gladly use cover to my advantage by Standing + Crouching + Proning behind cover to avoid bullets while I sneak by a couple burst shots at them. If you ask me, thats also a cheap tactic, but one thats more widely accepted.

I'm just a really cheap player obviously.
