I can't speak for the OP, but I'm having the same problem (I think) and it's not the patch. I've been playing the 1.3 patch since it came out and have been fine. Last week or so I've been getting this sudden drop in FPS like he describes. I've always played the game with everything maxed out. I am using the Beta 91.33 drivers (this was not changed recently either). I checked my graphics temp and it was way below the warning threshold so I don't have any ideas.

Last week the same thing happend to me too on several ocassions. I got in the heli gunner spot and whenever i switched to no HUD view my FPS tanked like 75%. It went back to normal when I went back to HUD view. If I switched between views really fast I could even trick it into giving me the low fps in hud view and good fps in no hud view. This has only happened a few times and I have played since then with no problems. I cant imagine what is causing this strange intermittent problem. One would think that a problem like this is a thermal issue, the GPU overheating or something, but you guys are saying you checked that. Weird. I hope I dont get stuck in the low fps mode! I hope you find a solution.
