I wonder what it is. I'm torn between announcing it's release date and another beta patch (would like to test the changes to make sure they actually work >.>)

Have you posted this info in all the BF2 websites or just the Big 3? That is this one, Planet Battlefield and EA UK?

I hope the patch does come out this week in any event.

This is fake news. It says friday some news about it, not the release of it. So wait until bf2142 demo. The two are comming in the same time. So they insta kill bf2.

Either if it's the final or Beta 3, it's progress towards what we want.
But by the sounds of Collin's posts it's final.
