errr Sir Eden: most germans do speak english, at least some basic stuff like "hello" , "tank ahead". "STFU noob", "GEt out of my Plane sucker", "WTF TK !!!"
We get english as a second language pretty early at school. 4th Grade if i am not wrong.
I am allways happy if there is a english speaking guy on Voice on the *french* server I play most of the time (owned by a german clan though). Its a good and cheap way to improve my (very sh!ty) pronunciation and grammar.

You can probably speak better english than half the people in our country :laugh:.

Ive been on servers that will ban just because of different IPs
went on a swedish server joined just about to start
u have been banned UK IP address scandinavian players only

one of my friends has ENG in his name and hes been kicked for that before

Getting kicked from a German server is just the same you don't speak German and they don't speak English, its just not going to work.

I doubt its anything against you but think of it logiacly, how can you have a good game there, you cant play as a team and it is against the rules to hinder your team deliberately which you would have been doing if you stayed there.

what a total and uter Load of rubbish 2,3,4 even 10+ people on each team wont make a blind bit of difference how most games/rounds turn out. on most servers were all lucky if we hear anyone speak

now its different if there spamming voice coms all time and no one understands.

I can honestly say that if it wasnt for Ventrilo, Teamspeak, VOIP in BF2, my English would be on the "shprechen sie talk?" level. We get english from 3rd grade, but screw that, theres absolutely NO way to practice it. No way, except for firing up that game and go with the flow...

As for being banned for not speaking German, just keep it shut, play the game, dont talk and youll be fine. Or they probably want to make up for the loss of WW2

As I said in my first post, my ping was fine. Eternal-Souljah is from Scotland and him playing in a japanese server... his ping would probably be high.

There wasn't much teamwork going on in the server so me not being able to communicate with the germans wasn't a problem. Besides I can still help the team by spotting enemies, calling for assistance, saying I need repairs etc. When I took down a helicopter, one in my team wrote: "das was mein" or something like that. I think it means "that was mine". He probably just joked about me stealing his kill. So, I said I didn't understand and got BANNED for that. Kind of unnecessary imho.

Well it still makes sense(to me anyway) for him to be kicked if he can't communicate properly with the other players if the server happens to be mic oriented.

My mic is broken, so I can never "communicate properly" with other players. You're saying I shouldn't be allowed to play the game without mic? Noone ever uses mic and hardly ever talks in the chat, so I don't think it really matters if I can't speak german.

I play on Aussie and NZ servers. We get a lot of people from Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong. I can't understand some of them and a lot of them have high pings. A few of them will join my squad and we all get on fairly well. I have been kicked out of my own squad when they took over once. Rotton buggers, They only wanted to natter away to themselves and didn't want me laughing at them in the background I spose.
Tried to join their servers and I get kicked straight away.

Thats the first word Ive learned. Then theres Spanish servers, they use word "chetos"? Hacking/cheating or something. Man its awesome.

Polish and Finnish players are by FAR the most swearing people Ive ever seen on a server... Even American 12 year old kids wont come close to those...

Anyway, in sound you can never beat a swearing Russian, being a Russian myself, I always entertain my American co-players with some juicy flames to keep them amused .

Yup, the finns are the worst ones! I got called 'hurri' all the time when I played on a finnish server. I was told that it's an insult of swedish people

Seriously, thats odd, since I love joining German servers. Most of them are good, I dont get kicked for a ping of 160, and it seems to me a majority of the people that play on those servers speak English well enough to be effective in the teamwork department.

it could be they just wanted low pings for people who have dial up. someone from sweeden could give people a higher ping. or they wanted everyone to be able to work together and know the german language. nothing personal dont take offense.
