Who watches live BF2 video broadcasts?

Just wondering if anybody here watches the live video broadcasts of tournament and league matches?

Actually I'm really wondering how many here have never heard of it.

I have heard of a third party that got BattleTV working, I think it is called BTV. I really wish had gotten their BattleTV streaming working and did not write it off to someone else to develope. I want to log on to servers without even playing just to follow the action. Especially when I read some of the posts here on this forum and want to watch what that person describes in their game.

Re: Who watches live BF2 video broadcasts?

No this is live coverage, just like watching a sporting event. The reason I ask is yesterday I posted the CAL Main Championship Final match being broadcast live around the world in the Clan section and only got 6 views and no replies.

Here is the CAL Open Championship that took place the last week Tuesday. By the way this is 8v8 competiton.
CAL Open Season 3 Championship Match, 20ID Poppycock vs Man Up

Last Nights match CAL Main Championship Season 4 It takes about 20 minutes before it starts due to players having disconnect issues.

Also this past weekend there was a televised match in San Fransico where 4 top clans where given a all expense paid trip (Code 7 was flown in from Europe) to play for $40,000. This will be shown on Direct TV late Aug on Channel 101.

There is a lot going on with E-sports, and it's moving ahead very quickly. I only used the recent BF2 CAL matches as an example, but they broadcast leagues and tournaments and games from all over.

        Here are some links

        FragTV

        EGLN

I think this is really cool stuff, and thought I would share the fun with those that don't know about it. Check it out, I'm sure some of you will enjoy it.
        :) :)

Btw, both teams above in the CAL Main Championship also playered the televised final in San Fransico, 20ID won the $40,000.

I never watched before but considered it recently. Really though I'd like to be one of the guys in those games.

Just check FragTV and EGLN for the next broadcast. Things will be quiet for a couple weeks now in BF2 as TWL and CAL are in between seasons. The next World Tournament starts in October, this is where clans from around the globe compete for the top spot in the world. These are also video broadcasted.

If you want more news, and get to know who the clans are that make the headlines, and see on what else goes on the in competition community you can read it at EGLN and also at GotFrag.

There is so much more going on than just playing the game and posting at a forum. Video broadcasting e-sports is really still in its infancy, with technology getting better each year it's eventually going to be huge. The DirecTV's Championship Gaming Invitational finals this past weekend is a big step in that direction.

If you go to the Archive tab at FragTV you can see broadcasts of past matches.

I didn't know about this til now. just downloaded the video to give it a chance. found it boring. just doesn't seem like BF2 is meant to be a spectator sport, but your mileage may vary.

That had to be the MOST lame show of dolphin diving, ground humping, bunny hopping, and generaly stupid Tom Faggery THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN! I cannot believe they get money for that...

Oh no, it isnt Dolphin Diving and Bunny Hopping! Its 'player manipulation'. Looks like a dance off.

I have yet to watch a CAL match live.. but I always watch the recordings afterwards..

Those matches are pretty intense and interesting to watch.
