Heck, I've only just got decent at BF2, and I'm only a Staff Sergeant...I'll carry on playing BF2 until I get the top rank, all medals, ribbons and badges, unlocks...

...But i'll probably have bought BF2142 before that ^_^ (After playing demo of course).

I have already preordered Battlefield 2142: Sooper Dooper Edition along with the t-shirt/coffee mug/mousepad combo and the temporary tattoos. Also if you place the order before 9/1/06 they will throw in a bumper sticker that says, "I am a bada$$ 2142 pwner!" Chizzle!

when there are no major bugs in the demo, it'll make more fun than BF2 and i have got good FPS, then i'll buy it...maybe

Let me start of by just saying that i love bf2 this is without doubt the best FPS game i have ever played and there is nothing like it on the market that i know of. But it has its problems the main two problems IMO are the actual people that play BF2 and the hit detection. Now IMO dice has worked its arse of trying to fix the easier of the two problems by nerfing weapons nerfing vehicles and basically nerfing all sorts that didn't need to be nerfed (and in some case like the BH they over nerfed). For example look at c4 theres no problem with people throwing c4 IMO the problems arise when people run around with nothing but c4 in there hand spamming it everywhere and then killing them self the enemy and half there own bloody team (that's what got c4 nerfed IMO).

If Dice wants me to buy 2142 they need to have in place a system thatll guard against the little t***s similar to BFROE and they need it in place BEFORE (or near enough at the beginning) of BF2142 life. Actually what they need to do is make the system much much more harsh first offence they lose there stats second offence they get banned from logging into gamespy for a week, second offence they get banned from logging in for a month, third offence they get cd-key banned. Actually it doesnt have to be anywhere near as extreme as this but a proper system to report arseholes in place from the games release would definitely be very appreciated and hopefully will stop the game getting nerfed stupid (which will happen the little t***s will find something new to p*** everyone of with in a new game).

Also for me to buy bf2142 they need to fix the hit detection or at least improve it as much as possible. Even now in the BETA 2 the knife is either a sword (very rare) or most of the time its a wooden spoon that does no damage you can stabs someone that's not moving and lay down in the back 4 times and they don't die. I know that hit detection is the hard one to fix that's why I'm not expecting miracles but any effort with a slight improvement would be much appreciated.

Another reason for me wanting a BFROE type system in place as well before bf2142 comes out is so DICE doesnt have to tinker with the code anywhere near as much as they have had to do in BF2 because of the t***s exploiting the system. Look at the way the knife used to work it used to be a brilliant weapon Dice hasn't done anything to the knife that i know of through all the patches but changing one thing in the code has screwed up the knife so the less changes to the code the better IMO.

I'm interested in seeing if they release the demo with lower video requirements and then force a reflective environment later on, promoting nVidia since the release and trying to force you to buy a new card.

I doubt I'll be getting it, personally, I'm not overly happy with the fact that BF2 is only recently turned one, and the official development (patches and expansions) is likely to cease now

2142 doesn't look like anything special imo, sure there are a few features I like the look of (stealth camo etc), but not enough to warrant me spending another £30+ and god knows how many hours playing – supposing they have the ranking system still?

I'm waiting for all the great BF2 mods to come out, these will breath life back into BF2, and when they're done with, it'll be time for BF3 – a proper new game :)

Yes there are still ranks in BF2142. 43 ranks and 40 unlocks. Only 21 unlocks in BF2.
And I think BF2142 is woth the £30+

Iread your comments AC. I am not buying the new game when it comes out. I am stick of BF2 crashing and not getting log in and SF not running so I have to reload the lot. Not out of protest but out of the lack of customer service and the lack of any notification of why the patch went ***s up in the first place. I also think that it will be on the same lines as BF2 and will stick to this game for a time even so in the past it has got me upset with problems I have encountered.

Guys, my point is that you should not support a company that doesn't care for its customers. Honestly, would you go back to a restaurant that gives you crappy service? Hell no! So, why should you change your ways for a company that provides a ****ty product and even more ****ty service to support its products.

If it was not for the problems, BF2 is actually a good game. But, if EA is going to be so care free as to its support of its game, what makes you think that most of you will experience what you see in the trailers for BF2142?

You have to remember, what you are seeing are video clips of the game actually working. We, on the other hand, have a game that has way too many bugs and problems that EA does not fix.

Just think about it. I think it would be safe to say that the programing of BF2 was a lot more difficult than BF1942. We're talking about a new game engine, weapons, and options for players. Now, with all the new features of BF2142, you have to know that the programming for the game will be even more difficult than BF2. If that is the case, you can bet that there will be more problems for BF2142 and that is why you should not waste your money on a game that will only frustrate you.

Just remember their disclaimer when they show you the trailers, "you're game experience may differ from what is shown." This disclaimer saves their *** when they dangle a game that looks like it will work well when in reality it will probably be the opposite.

AC SLATER have you even read the interviews or read on the TotalBF2142 forum regarding BF2142?

BF2142 wasn't finished when BF2 was released. But they had the basic game. BF2142 is based on a enhanced BF2 engine. They have been fine tuning BF2142 ever since BF2 was released. They look on what problems BF2 had and then solved. Tweaked and well you name it.

So if you are trying to say that BF2142 is a rushed out game, then its not.

I wonder how many ppl actually are reading the reviews and interviews to BF2141 of those who protest against it

I think too many people around here have misjudged the ability they have to influence potential game buyers. Even if only 10% of the current BF2 players migrated to the new game, there would be possibly 500,000 more that never played BF2 who play 2142. Some games become more successful by target newer audiences with different themes (Hence the 2142 part) and not trying to be pigeonholed into one era or timeframe.

I think even if the whiners in here don't by 2142, not only will it be a cash cow for EA, but there will be thousands of people online fawning over the game just like we all did when BF2 came out.

So in the end, this was just a waste of a thread by someone who felt the need to be the voice of the community and ultimately won't change anything.

This thread is dedicated to those that will protest with me regarding the development of Battlefield 2. I believe I speak for most when I say that we've all had nagging issues with BF2 since its release. It's been over 1 year since the game's release and nothing has changed. If you're game is not crashing (which mine is now that I've downloaded the latest patch), it is taking forever to log onto the BF2 account server.

Personally, I do not wish to spend one more penny on EA games until they get their act together and give its customers a game worth the $50+ we shell out for this shovel ware. With that said, if you are not happy with BF2, please join me in protesting EA games by not buying BF 2142. If EA's approach is to pump out poorly programmed games, you can bet you will receive the same with BF 2142 and that game too will be a waste of your hard earn money.

Stop being a *****. BF2 is a great and fun game but it has its flaws like every other. No one gives a **** if you aren't going to buy BF2142. In fact that'd be great, one less whining smacktard to worry about.
