I hope EA doesn't pay PB too much money, because they seem to not be doing their jobs.

White Hat hackers? lol havent heard that term in over 5 yrs hehehe.

Anyhow i would leave it to the powers that be who do this sort of thing for a living. I know these companies (evenbalance etc) are not the fastest and most efficient sometimes but been a white hat can get you into all sorts of trouble yourself. Usually WH's work for dev/security companies (or at the very least well known communities) thats why they get away with use of and deconstruction of blackhat apps/tools.

PB never did its Job. Not in Americas Army, not in Couterstrike, and prolly never in BF2.
In my life i saw like 2 PB Bans and i play FPS online for years now.

Aimbot finds and shoots aimbot but kills BF2

A friend of mine recently paid for a week’s trial of an aimbot distributed on the Internet by a company who I’ll call XYZ Company. Before anyone says it, no – it’s not me I’m talking about.

This friend’s a bit of a computer geek and he actually took the trial to see how the aimbot worked rather than to improve his stats. However, on every ranked server he went on (I’m talking EA Official UK, Jolt and Multiplay) he found one or more (and in some cases several people) quite clearly using aimbots. The way he discovered this was to use the aimbot to highlight the enemy and make buildings transparent. He then ran around behind hills, buildings and fences, and it was clear from the highlighted enemies that they were tracking his every movement backwards, forwards, up and down. It was clear that it was an aimbot and nothing to do with being spotted by the UAV or commander.

He killed a few hackers by using his aimbot but became bored with this and disillusioned with BF2 overall. Since his aimbot trial period ended, he hasn’t played the game at all. I feel sad that he’s decided to stop playing. Personally, I just accept that there are probably going to be hackers in every game I play. I just play for a laugh.

But it made me wonder whether there are any white hat hackers out there who have this or similar aimbots who could use it in the way my friend did to locate and then record and report these hackers. Or would such white hats be accused of breaking the ROE themselves? Should we just leave it to Punkbuster or hope that blatant hacking or exploiting is reported to BFROE?
