Secondly, they do not ALERT Punkbuster (EA has nothing to do with punkbuster. They only have it in their game. So to tie EA with Punkbuster directly is foolish on your own behalf. )

Punkbuster works undercover like a undercover officer busts drug trafficing. You send an officer in to pose as a buyer...buy the product, then bust it. The second that 'product' is found, the cheaters will work like the drug dealer's. One or two people may get caught, but the others will find out and a fix or workaround will come about to sway the officers (or in this case punkbuster) off the trail and leave them having to again get the product.

Punkbuster has probably gave up on that company, I will hand that to you. But that does not mean every now and then they may get the product (or perhaps pirate it.) to ban it.

As for this number of 3450 times, are you one of those to know this? A huge problem? No. 3450 players cheating compared to the tens of thousands of players online playing is nothing. That's just a small dent. Sure, you may notice someone fishy or such here and there...but most outcrys for cheating is not cheating it's self.

If you wish to discuss a manner such as this, or perhaps start a debate, I'd appreciate it if you would come about in a civilized manner, rather than the way you approached me. This is not a Counter-Strike community, or TWL. We dont go randomly flaming people and pretending to be internet tough guys.

please dont use punkbuster and work in the same sentence... its almost
    laughable..

undercover you say?? hahahahahaha... punkbuster is a farce.. a term..
a useless compound word that really only exists to make the purchaser
of this junky code feel all warm and safe and tingly inside, like he is
    protected from cheaters..

Its RARELY updated.. and as ANYONE with half a brain cell can see,
reporting ANYTHING to EA whether it be stat padders, cheaters,
ranked servers, is USELESS... Ive tried reporting padders and cheats
with screenshot after screenshot in the past.. its USELESS.

EA is the biggest joke in the market.. They release unfinished products and
hope they can finish them later with patch after patch after patch, only
in this case, their PATCH MAKERS..a'la DICE are even bigger idiots than
    they are.

PB was never used in CS...and online games always had hackers..its just inevitable. but with bf2...since theres so much going on, i dont really mind which is the good part...and this also gives me an idea...

back in the CS days, my friend who tended to hack alot would invite me over to see his hacks since and its a totally diff game with a lot more visuals and stuff and i played a few minutes and u can tell if someone is hacking if ur hacking and with hacking u can tell the diff between "luck" and actual hacking, so i htink EA should get like 10 employees to implement some hacks harmlessly (like no shooting enemies at all) and itll make it easier to see who the real hackers are

Hmm, interesting. I guess that once you suspect you ve run into a hacker, you start seeing hackers all over the place for a while. I guess that 0.2% estimated "hackosity" of the BF2 player population is to be expected. It is like parasites and host animals. the host animals will always outnumber the parasites by a lot, else the system breaks down when everyone tries to suck blood from each other. A parasite free world - or hack free gaming world - is quite possibly utopian.

Yah, I saw that, that is why I brought up the thing from the league earlier lol. Another reason I stated that I felt this game was actually more secure than other games I have played. But, like I said, he would rather see it the way he does and I don't think anyone is going to make him change his mind, life goes on

Did you guys look at the link Graag provided? The MBL contains 2627 bans out of 1,315,309 GUIDs checked. 0.2% of the community has used cheats at one time or another over the past year.
    That's nothing.

You have to realize that most people will try the hack only once, some download them and never even use them, the ones that do use them on a regular on-going basis are in a very small group.

But some people continue to believe that the man on the moon missions were all a hoax, so I'm sure there will be those that will believe hacks are rampant in BF2 no matter how much evidence to the contrary anybody can produce.

    0.2%

I don't think he has actually reads the cheat boards to realize that they actually do give out hw bans and that even the cheaters know that PB updates their scanranges. If PB actually gave up altogether, mp's site wouldn't have a sticky labeled 'New PB ScanRanges'.

Like I said, PB is far from perfect, but coupled with Content Check, BF is actually more secure than a lot of other games I have played. But, I'm not going to bother debating it with him for two reasons, he clearly is set in his mind as am I, and he doesn't seem to know how things actually work. Makes me wonder why he bothers to play this game, or any game that EA releases if he has such a hate-on for them, not that I am a big fan of EA either, but I do enjoy the game and come in playing knowing that any game that is popular is going to be a target for cheating more so than other games, take it as it is.

It amazes me that after all this time people still don't understand how PB works, even as server admins, they don't know how to use it to screen for cheats.
More servers admins need to get their servers streaming the MBL.

That link you gave to the stats really puts the number of players using hacks in perspective compared to other games. Pretty darn close to what I always figured, on average 0.2% of players use hacks.
Better than it was in UT or TO. Just in the league I used to help admin, we had about 1400 active registered users at any given time, and just on my server alone, I nailed 120 people in about 2 months time by sneaking a game specific keybind+keystroke logger into the servers autodownload files, that is almost 10% of the population that actively visited our league at that time for that game. I made the logs public afterwards and had a good laugh with it, a well known cheat scripter actually helped me with it, now that is almost border line on irony.

There are actually videos you can find on youtube of such cheats. That company you mention of runs in a very, you could say 'professional' manner...What happens is PB will buy the cheat or somehow get their hands on it. Then put it into their database. When that happens the company will put out a little alert for their paying customers...release a quick and fix there you go. Back in the game, no worries on bans, and continued income. (From punkbuster...and their 'real' customers.)

The cheat that this company provides is a lot more complex than many of you think, On youtube I've seen a video of the cheat as I mentioned before, and it is a complex menu with many different options if you read closely (even has winamp controls.) Things such as chams...name hacks (that show health and even if they are reloading their weapon or not.) and even up to aimbots.

With something like this out there, cheating is going to be almost impossible to stop. More than likely you'll hear about this company over and over again throughout your gaming 'career'.
